Following the shock 1-0 home defeat to Maribor, Celtic have been re instated into the Champions League after it was discovered that one of the Maribor players failed to return his swipe card key to the hotel that they were staying at when he checked out. Celtic spokesman Jock McLuckytwat said finally justice has been done and Uefa have shown some balls.

I really hope they draw Legia in the Europa. Would love to see Legia batter them again.
Reading TalkCeltic is hilarious though. They're blaming the referee and suggesting they should complain to UEFA, but that UEFA are unlikely to do anything because they're too corrupt. Awww, diddums, I'll be lighting a candle for you.
They weren't fucking calling UEFA corrupt when they wrongfully kicked out Legia were they? Disgusting team.

Can somebody explain the rules about qualifying for Europa via the CL. Thought is was just the teams that were knocked out at the group stages that scammed their way in.

Can somebody explain the rules about qualifying for Europa via the CL. Thought is was just the teams that were knocked out at the group stages that scammed their way in. 15 teams from the Champions League qualification round three will enter in the fourth and last UEFA Europa League qualification round, formerly known as the first round, and the 10 non-qualifiers of the Champions League qualification round 4 will directly enter the UEFA Europa League group stage. The 12 winners and the 12 runners-up in the group stage will advance to the first knock out round, together with eight 3rd placed teams from the Champions League group stage. in short.....it's basically just turning into a Cup for those that got knocked out of the Champs league at some point which is ridiculous! if you get knocked out of the Champs league then that should be that, no more europe until next year! the europa league is perfect for smaller clubs as they can get in by doing well in cup competitions as they have no chance in the league...this is just gradually ruining that though as more and more clubs who DO do well in their leagues can now do shit in the tournament they're supposed to be in in the full knowledge that if they get knocked out then they can hijack another tournament and go and win that instead as they're usually playing poorer opposition. always been a crap rule to allow any Champ league sides into europa if you ask me

I thought it was because Maribor's goalscorer shared his name with a 1970s disco act, which clearly gave them an unfair advantage.

That is total bollocks and gives little or no chance for clubs who qualify for Europa on their own merit. It has to be EUFA doing this to allow TV sponsors to get their money's worth ensuring there is almost certainly a bigger club in the final. The sooner there is a full European league for the elite clubs the better. Then we can get back to proper nogger in PL.

I wouldn't say it was wrongful decision more like a harsh decision It was wrong. Rules were broken, but a fine was enough. A fine was sufficient in 2010 when Debrecen fielded an ineligible player against a Bulgarian team and fined 15,000 euros.

But Celtic are a massive club so it's different, they won the European club in 1967 don't you know, they hate the English and are armed forces, they sing sectarian songs that belong in the past which about sums them up really.
