Anyone under 25 was still 'a kiddie' for TP. Wilko still gets a Rupert Annual from TP every Christmas! I'd always assumed Wilko was more of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, rather than Rupert Bear. Dunno why.

Did ok, seemed confident, was willing to shoot from outside the area. Good start.

Well done Ollie. Very proud of him tonight. Fantastic talent as a 10 year old and to break in to the first team 6 years later absolutely wonderful. Great to see some of his family tonight watching his debut. All the best for future and thank you for sticking with Stoke, your team.

What's his position?

I thought he looked astonishingly assured for a 16 year-old. He was positive in possession, showed a good touch, and apart from one stray pass he made the right decision every time he got the ball.
Perhaps another 12 months as part of our youth set-up then a loan to League Two to get him used to being kicked will be the best way forward now. There's a long road ahead of him, but it's great to see the academy produce someone with such promise.

Why not keep him ourselves and let him play when the opportunity arises? Liverpool never loaned Fowler or Owen out, neither did Everton with Rooney. And none of them did too bad.

Sat next to his dad, had to tell him the lad was coming on. Great for the lad.

Obviously a short cameo for him, but any thoughts from those who saw it? Did he get much chance on the ball? Full of confidence, as soon as he got the ball, he drove forward & took a shot, straight at the defender though. Didn't try to hide, wanted the ball, took a couple of corners. Did he beat the 1st man on corners?

I feel guilty for not knowing about him at all (or any of the youth squad tbh) especially him being Blythe lad! Does he seem the real deal? What position? Are there others coming through aswell or is he a standout player?

Why not keep him ourselves and let him play when the opportunity arises? Liverpool never loaned Fowler or Owen out, neither did Everton with Rooney. And none of them did too bad. They were all exceptional talents though. Lets not get silly and assume that because he's come on against a L2 side for 10 minutes that he's going to be ready to start making Premiership appearances. You know what would happen here if we threw a 16 year-old on in a league game- he'd make a couple of mistakes and the crowd would be on his back. The best way for him to learn will be regular games...if he looks good at lower levels, step him up to the Championship; keep him learning by playing first team football. It's about patience with these young lads. There's no reason to start throwing him in yet-it's an unnecessary risk that could have negative consequences all round.

Central midfield or winger is all I thought until I was speaking to an ex Stoke scout on Twatter, Frank Sharps I think his name is. The club/management think he could be a number 10.

I grew up in Blythe and knew a Grant Shenton back in the day.

Obv I'm excited, but there's a little part of me that'd absurdly jealous that a 16 year old can say he's played for Stoke. I'm 25 and I'm still living at home wanking into socks.

Thought he did really well, best player on the pitch at burton. Plays in the bojan role as a number 10. Great energy and drove forward with the ball. Took some good corners.
Reception from the crowd was brilliant, but as others have said most of our lot won't offer diouf any patience after two games, surprised some didn't boo because he didn't score.
Family are really nice folks and used to run the local near me.
Hope he follows the cup games now. Reminded me of Barkley a bit . Raw talent but if say a lot more composed.
Hope he becomes the poster boy for the academy. Exciting times

Considering how OTT this board usually is about just about everything, I can't believe how largely underwhelming the responses have been as to how he did tonight. I try not to get carried away about things, but to be honest, I was blown away by him.
I know it was only the last 10 minutes of a match that was already over against a league two side, but I can't remember seeing a 16 year old ever take to the field and try to take the game over right from the start like he did tonight. I honestly don't think we'll be loaning him out anywhere. If he's not a first team regular in two years time, there's something wrong.
Really impressive cameo as far as I'm concerned.
