Dutch National TV: Err, Mr Gall sir, you've had some magnificent experiences and really tough big match nights, e.g. in the Champions League and World Cups - which game eclipses all of them in your illustrious career, sir?
Mr Gall: Well, let me see, I mean think (hair sticking up, blotched red-face and looking more like a cross between a cast member of the Muppet Show and Spitting Images) - wins are two-a-penny for me but all I ask is that my players do their best - that is all!!
DNTV: OK sir, err, what about tonight against the minnows of MK Dons?
Mr Gall: Look, I say to you, all of you - my team must play to their utmost best. So, I have to say tonight, I am happy! We play very well and we have a good shot in the 76th minute! You know, that is good, very good. To keep the score down to 4-0 against a talented side like the MK Dons, is the best, the very best that we can do. We can build on this and, I'm told there is a saying in Mancunia: "Rome isn't built in a day", or is it "don't build a brick house on a foundation of shit"? I don't remember, well, I don't bloody care anyway because I've been dumped with such a crock of shit! But I've been here long enough, to know that we can do it, we can do it - especially so knowing that those phuckwits on the board are prepared to spend shit loads of money on any Tom, Dick or Di Maria!

If hughes ever bought evans in at stoke I'd hand my season card in. ...but if Evans were English he would have been a regular in the England setup would he not?

They'll have to spend at least another £60million just to get a first team that looks anything like on paper. Their squad though is riddled with poor players - Smalling, Jones, Rafeal, Young, Fletcher, Valencia, Anderson, Hernandez, Evans etc etc. How the fuck Fergie won the league in his last season is a miracle. How can you leave Tom Cleverly off that list?

It really is a pathetic result. I went the Vale tonight and Cardiff put out a massively second string side (ironically including a Man Yoo reject in Macheda) and they pretty much strolled to a victory and looked a good side with it.
Declan John was particularly impressive for Cardiff.

Wow, that's worse than when York beat them 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Personally I take absolutely no joy in that poxy parasitic worm of a club getting any limelight from this, even if it is at ManU's expense.
Well alright maybe a little bit, but you know what I'm saying.

MK Dons is a putrid stain on the football league. The fact that they knocked out AFC Wimbledon to get this dream-tie and dream-result makes it an even more bitter pill to swallow. I wish them nothing but failure.

If this year they miss out again on champions league football - which, although it's still early days, might be s distinct possibility - they could well spiral down to relative oblivion in the coming years

Don't know your age CP, but many of us older Stokies don't share the blind hatred of Our neighbours up Burslem. In fact when I was a kid in 60s I used to go Vale regularly with my Vale supporting mate when Stoke were away. Hence I still have soft spot for them and would always wish them well.

Before anyone laughs too much, this might actually work in their favour. One less distraction. They're surely aiming for FA cup and Europe?

Well, they've got those two other players on the radar haven't they? Daley Blind and Arturo Vidal, for an estimated 42 million . Doubt that will save them either. Staggering how much money they've wasted since Fergie left. Long may it continue. Anyone got the odds of us finishing above them this season?

Possibly, but the fact that they're not in Europe already works in their favour. Their squad is more than big enough to cope with the Prem and a couple of domestic cups. I would have thought that a more congested fixture list would have benefited them more since they need to gel. As it's looking they're only going to play once a week which may keep them fit, but won't help them get up to speed quickly in terms of playing competitive games. Heard this morning that even Mata is looking like he's surplus to requirements now. I'm loving this LVG philosophy.

I am old enough to remember the shit we had to put up with from the unwashed, I also have a soft spot for them a nice marl pit on Werrington common.

Glad they got thrashed by a minnow....just not glad that the team that did it was MK (fucking) Dons................would have been way better if it had been AFC Wimbledon.

Also how is the solution Angel Di Maria for 75 million when you are trying to play 3-5-2 system?
Its one of the weirdest decisions in football management surely
3-5-2 = Yes ok I understand it
Angel Di Maria = Yes I understand it hes a quality winger
3-5-2 PLUS Di Maria = wtf????

Whenever I see someone in a Vale shirt I don't think anything much of it.
Whenever I see someone in a Man United / Arsenal / Barca or Real shirt, that are blatantly not from those parts, my first thought is 'cunt'.
Followed by heart warming thoughts of them getting a kicking.

Great to see them thumped by a lower level team. I hate visiting different parts of the UK and meeting someone who says "I am A United fan", or "I support the Gunners".
But I don't subscribe to some posts on here that say their players are rubbish. They are actually very talented individuals who have lost their ability to apply themselves. The way their defenders kept giving the ball away last night shows a deep lack of concentration on the job in hand, not that they don't have the ability to pass.
They will turn round just as I believe Stoke will.

I always knew which club I supported but I probably went to Vale Park 30 or 40 times as a lad with my mate and his dad who were Vale fans. It had one advantage over going to Stoke - at Vale I never worried much about the result!
