Even if they were a couple, I doubt that would be enough to convince Balotelli to take a 50k+ per week pay cut. I'm thinking the other way round. They've been linked with him...

Think he needs another 6 months / 1 season of good performances before any of the big clubs come knocking. He needs to prove that he can consistently perform at a high level. If he has a good season then the likely-hood is he'll be leaving next summer...for a lot of money.

As a football fan I look forward to having him back in the prem if he signs.
Can't imagine how him and Sturridge are going to work together though

this incident is further proof of the fact that wilko has no place at this level. balotelli did make a meal of it, true, but wilko stupidly gave him the opportunity to do so How does doing something stupid on a football pitch (ie. elbowing somebody) equate to a reason a player has no place at a certain level of football? Using that logic, or lack thereof, there's going to be a lot of world class players who now have "no place at this level" world class players are not hell-bent at hacking at opposition players giving away penalties and getting booked every game they play like wilko does. He plays a pub level of football and anyone with a slight bit of football acumen can clearly see that. I'm convinced that had we to put him on the market there would be no interest in him not even from championship teams

I mean proportionately to the number of minutes played I doubt if any other player in the prem has conceded more penalties and freekicks in dangerous positions and has been booked or sent off more than wilkinson

Didn't do it in the Prem before, very hit and miss if you are pinning your hopes on him to win you a title you are not going to win it.

Since 2007 Andy Wilkinson has played 207 games for Stoke City and picked up 44 yellow cards and 2 red cards in that time. You reckon that no other players in this league have picked up that amount of more bookings over that amount of games do you? How naive are you? I don't know how many penalties he's conceded to be honest but i bet that's like 2 or summat. You believe that no other footballer has conceded that amount of penalties? Nor have any other defenders conceded free-kicks in their own final third or should i say "dangerous positions" as Wilko has? Is this a wind-up? Or are you that daft? I hope it's both.

More like pub team level and I speak to loads of friends of mine who support stoke like me but are not from stoke- on- Trent and therefore are not blinded by the fact that he's a local boy and they are all of the unanimous opinion that he's the most un talented player in the squad, a calamity, an accident waiting to happen. How many of those 207 appearances were for the full match ? That's why you have to see the 44 yellow cards (an enormous quantity even in itself) proportionately to the number of minutes played not the number if games. Even in the basis of number if games he has averaged a yellow every five games which is still a Lot but if one had to work it on the number if minutes played I bet it'll be more like 1 in every 3. And since you are so knowledgable and seem to have a lot of time on your hands looking up these statistics would you care mentioning which players got more yellow cards than him ?

Wilko was the best right back of the Pulis era bar none and like Whelan our best runs of form invariably game with him in the team.

One of his sending offs, was against C. Ronaldo, who in my opinion should have also been sent off for a sly kick at Wilko, but needless to say, it wasn't seen, was it?????

With regards to pulis I respect what he did to keep us up and he certainly has his name enshrined in stoke legend; but the level of football was clearly not too easy on the eye And most supporters were clamourjng for change. With regards to our players I don't flag them off but write about them in realistic terms. There are some here who slag off players just eg coz they're American and some have even said that wilko is better than Cameron zmd that Cameron is toss. Now anyone who knows anything about football knows that that is utter rubbish.i had - to use your own words - 'slagged off' kenwyne jones but time has proved me right as he was toss here, is toss at Cardiff and his swap with PO was the best deal we ever made.

What that got to do with it. nothing apart from the fact that it proves my point I'm disputing the rubbish you spouted about him being the worst at giving away penos, dangerous free kicks etc, so what he is worth in no way proves your point. Edit, and what a player is worth doesn't necessarily mean they are shit, so once again proves nothing.

Andy wilkinson has averaged a booking once every five games, the player with the highest booking per appearance rate in the premier league, lee bowyer, averaged a yellow card little over once per every four appearances. Source: a dailymail article where they misspelled bowyer.
