Apparently it went belly up though because we wanted to sell and they wanted a loan.

cant help thinking he could become a good player I think he's already a championship level right back Harry. I'm not sure he's going to get much better than that but you never know.

Can't see him getting in their team as they have Cyrus Christie who is a quality RB.

Hope it works out for Shotts and good luck to him, I hope he finds a good championship side that are fighting for promotion, good servant and decent enough player came through the academy and a Stoke lad, not quite good enough at premiership level but always gave 100% when needed. Time for him to move for his own sake as well as the clubs. Gouranga.

We have at least 3 better RBs.
It is time for Shotton to move on.
A move to Derby would be good for him and for both clubs.
I hope it actually happens and wish the lad loads of luck.

I really can't see him getting a game for Derby at the minute and i can only assume he's cover for defensive injuries there. They have a solid centre half paring in Buxton and Keogh and in Christie a very promising right back so maybe McClaren is going down the long throw route

Shotton has played just about everywhere on the pitch bar goalkeeper. He's played at full back, on the wing, at CH and in midfield. He even played up front for Altringham. I honestly think the lad has suffered, in terms of progress, from never really having a settled role. There's a half decent footballer in there somewhere.

I know mate but he went on loan to Altrincham and started at CH for them before they pushed him up front where he played very well for them regularly. He's been a bit of a positional 'nomad' and I don't think it's helped him to progress in the long run.

Will he have someone to tell him to 'pick it up' and 'throw it in' there?

Good luck to Shott's, good pro, a Stokie at heart and scored that goal in injury time at The Hawthorns, will keep an eye on his career wherever he ends up and we follow one another on twitter

Sell, sell, sell And good riddance good riddance is uncalled for in my opinion as he's been a good servant and a decent local lad. I agree that we should offload as he ain't good enough at this level. Same applies to wilko but I doubt there will be any requests from him even from a championship team as in my opinion his footballing level is lower than that. I would clearly say good riddance if we ever get to see the back if Shea and palacios

Sell, sell, sell And good riddance Good riddance to you as a Stoke "supporter". What is it with some of our "fans"? If a player does his best over a number of years and has never shown anything but loyalty to the club, why would a fan want to slag him off when he leaves? OK, his best may not be good enough and he needs to move on for the sake of his career (and for the sake of our wage bill) - but why is that a reason to abuse him? Is this a generation thing - or is it simply a vocal minority with no age bias?
