The game on Saturday cried out for Walters' introduction, yet he was nowhere to be seen. Would have added the grit that we needed tbh.

You may well be right there block27 but we're top heavy and that means one of Walters, Crouch and Odemwingie needs to go. My preference would be SJW (with my thanks for his efforts over the past few seasons).

Selling Crouch would be a massive mistake IMHO!

The chances of selling anyone have nosedived since the capped one walked.

His 'introduction' What on eath do you think he would have done when we were 1-0 down barring run about alot ? That's exactly what he would've done - run about a lot, and that's exactly what we needed. Nobody else seemed arsed. He would've got up in their faces, won the ball and then let us play from there. Coming on as a sub towards the end of last season proved effective for the team as opposing teams hate playing against him due to his mad energy.

Selling Crouch would be a massive mistake IMHO! Crouch, with Diouf or Bojan buzzing around in the box picking up Crouches lay off would be good to see, Ritchie/Greenhoff style.

I would prefer to let Jon Walters go, he is an extremely hard worker and would do a good job for a struggling premier team or a championship side chasing promotion, Stoke are moving on so he has done us good service but he may not even make the bench some weeks. He is a player who needs to play.

We are not very good at sales so let's try bogofs or ebay auctions or even a mobile display van complete with signing office and paperwork/fax machines, even a market stall (rollup rollup, who'll start me off for this duracell bunny, Walters, what about £2m?

Looks like Fernandezs "we learnt lessons" speech is a load of rubbish. Fer at 8m, Vargas at 9m and more to come. I can't believe they're not going to breach FFP.

Apart from the odd sale, this will be one deadline about which we can be relaxed, interested observers. TBH I prefer Hughes' strategy of buying early, to TP's of buying desperately.

Would we have cover for the wings though, if the likes of Walter's were sold? The team was so unbalanced on Saturday, without natural wingers on each flank. Plus the two wingers to come into the squad could well disappear to the ACN come January?

This might be the year when sky cuts to the reporter outside the Brit and no one will be there:)

Yes, I needed my dummy tit as well He was on the bench, wasn't he? I thought that his presence would have had an impact, he gives everything to the cause. But we simply have to soldier on without Super Jon if we are to become the thing that everyone seems to think we can become. That's the reality and it may get much worse before it starts to get better. Once again, it's deep breath and strap yourselves to the mast time time again folks!

I understand that he's obviously not a long term improvement to the team, but it's the best we had on the bench on saturday.
