Is Stephen Ireland Armish? I mean that beard n bald head kinda suggest he is. Also if he is that explains his performance or lack of yesterday. He must be forbidden from physical exertion on a Saturday afternoon.

In Ireland/Hughes defense I thought along side Bojan he was the star of our pre season, unlike Adam who was a bit of a liability and was responsible for a few sloppy goals due to looking off the boil. If i were manager Id have played Ireland yesterday too, just through merit.

Tumbleweed & a no. Boy we really have lost our sense of humour after one game. Just trying to inject a bit of humour in to proceedings, I know we were gash yesterday but lets try & cheer up eh still 37 games to go(I really like Ireland by the way before anyone bursts a vein in anger at me).

ChrisKamara, does Hughes see Diouf as a central striker or a striker cutting in from wide areas?

Armish? Do you mean "armed"?
Bit racist, assuming that because he's Irish, he's also armed.
I mean he probably is, but you can't just say it.

Plenty of Newcastle fans and would agree sadly, before they bombed him out my Walters comment was genuine his best game last year was in the hole v man u at home . More goals in him than Ireland which is saying something and critically he let's the opposition know he is around Walters wouldn't be my first choice but he Would be ahead of Ireland Both players scored three goals from open play for Stoke last season.

ChrisKamara, does Hughes see Diouf as a central striker or a striker cutting in from wide areas? Very much a central forward who can stretch defences. You will see a different Diouf away from home.

Out of everyone yesterday, I was most disappointed with Ireland. Guess it is because I expected so much of him coming into the game and was subsequently so disappointed by his overall performance but more importantly, how quickly he seemed to lose heart in the game.
He was very lucky to see out 90 minutes yesterday.
That said, Adam was no better when he came on and contributed his usual sublime pass, sublime pass to the opposition in dangerous area and a shocking deadball delivery.
Maybe Bojan is the answer in the Ireland position. Maybe Ireland will play better. Maybe Moses could be the answer in that position.
Who knows. I rate Ireland as a player but he has to find some consistency in his performances this season.

That's good to hear! I also feel his aerial ability is underrated and if we can get crosses in he will score headers as he has a good leap on him! I just hope we doesn't fill in on the right much as he looks a little lost out there! At home against he top 7 he will also be key with his pace!

Adam is better off the bench as has more energy than when he starts where he isn't fit enough!

Open play but walters scored more so he can take a peno too badly on occassions but he can, Ireland we dont know like so much about his game

Or left.
He's perfect because he can play both flanks equally as well and I'm sure Hughes won't think twice about dropping Arnie and starting Moses there (if he needs to) .
Possibly so Paul. I think we've seen Sparky has a ruthless streak and wouldn't hesitate to drop anyone who isn't performing to the level he'd like. In that case nobody out of our starting 11 is guaranteed a place against Hull. Who did cover themselves in glory?

You don't go changing vast swathes of your team every time you have a bad game. Let's get the right flank sorted and go from there.

I agree, just saying nobody should feel their place is safe after the Villa match. Not advocating wholesale changes.

Ireland had an off day, as did many. But he'll be key in that role behind the striker this season.

Ireland doesn't seem to do average performances. He's either very good or very poor, yesterday he was very poor and should have been subbed early second half.

Sorry not a big fan of Ireland or Adam, Wheldon is sporadic, Palacious oh well, so whilst we seem to have loads of options in midfield, in truth we don't. At some stage we need to try Nzonzi and Sidwell, perhaps with Bojan in front of them.

Ireland Adam and bojan all play the same role. I can see Adam going and Ireland and bojan battling it out. One things certain, bojan and Ireland simply cannot play together in the same team, we looked far too weak
