Yes he was poor yesterday but I must say it is the fittest I've seen him in a very long time and a fit Ireland over a full season will be a massive boost.

If he is going to play and we want to play Bojan too, I would play him out on the right and Bojan in the middle behind the striker. Ireland did well there against Real bêtis for part of the game.

What's with that beard thing he has?
I thought he'd been training to join Islamic State!

Or left.
He's perfect because he can play both flanks equally as well and I'm sure Hughes won't think twice about dropping Arnie and starting Moses there (if he needs to) .

Possibly so Paul. I think we've seen Sparky has a ruthless streak and wouldn't hesitate to drop anyone who isn't performing to the level he'd like.

I worry about this because he deserved to be subbed...and wasn't.
Bit of a favourite is Ireland and that's not a comfortable situation.

I suppose it could be the case that Hughes feels that he's a confidence player and needs to be given as much of a chance in the side as possible. In the short term you get a stinker of a performance like yesterday but in the long term it gets the best out of him. That or he's Hughes' Walters.

Fingers crossed he doesnt need to this season because he's excellent when on his game. Is he more of a number 10 that plays off an out and out target man though?

He was awful awful awful , without doubt the most bewildering decision by this management team is their persistence with Ireland . Giving him a contract even more so . Adam scores , battles and assists Ireland yesterday played for 20 minutes as usual and then went hopelessly missing .not strong enough , doesntmake or score and certainly we cant afford him and bojan in the same team .
Would actually prefer Walters in the hole which is his best position than Ireland For me he would be be a very very lucky boy to make the bench next week .

I dont feel we can play both Ireland & Bojan unless Bojan is playing right up top. Hughes made a big mistake against Villa playing Bojan RW. I have a feeling it will be Arnie whos dropped before Ireland.

I really feel he isnt a LW at all (Moses that is) I agree Hughes wouldnt think twice about dropping Arnie. However I think it would be terrible to drop him.

Jury's still out I think - was sure in his best season at Citeh he played deeper in a Lampard-type role but for us he looks much better higher up the pitch, keeping us moving and leading the breaks. Invisible yesterday mind.

Same as "my teams are always better in the second half of the season". You can get away with that once, but no more than that.

I am obviously the odd one out here but I'd start Adam over Ireland most games, I was screaming for Adam come on yesterday but he only had 10 mins. Adam has so many goals in him whereas Ireland hasn't, baffled.

Arnie was double marked a lot of the time. Both he and his team mates are going to have to get used to that and use it to our advantage.
With Moses coming in, Odemwingie and Bojan...as well as Diouf...we can hardly complain of a lack of options to use as the extra man when he is double marked.
We have to move the ball quicker and switch the play quicker.

Once Villa realised that they kicked Arnie out the game. I also dont think Pieters helped either. Im not saying Arnie wasnt poor but he wasnt helped.

Moses has played on the left loads of times in his career and to be fair when Hughes dropped Arnie last season he came back twice the player.
I'm not suggesting that Hughes should drop Arnie but rather I imagine that Hughes will think he can use Moses to put a rocket up Arnie's arse if necessary.

Its a good idea, especially as it worked with Assaidi last year.
