He's a far better player than Sidibe. Thought he worked his socks off first half but tired in the 2nd. He will get better just needs a goal to build his confidence.

I felt Odemwingie was a big miss today. He fits well into your attacking system with his pace and can poach goals himself, usually plays well against us. That and the game completely passed Ireland by, Adam needed to be brought on sooner. Whelan and N'zonzi excel much better at the defensive aspects of the midfield game, I'd say that would be clear with them being at Stoke for quite a while. I was more commenting on when he was on the ball such as running it out for a goal kick just before he was subbed. As I've said he's scored a decent amount in Germany so he's clearly no mug. You're a brilliant judge of a player that touches the ball once or twice. Have you ever thought of a career in scouting? You are so wrong on N'Zonzi though. Need to brush up on your midfielders.

I can see the OP'S point but it should read Sidibe is a poor mans Diouf. Unless your talking about baking skills. Can't judge yet because it is early days and I don't think Diouf has shown us lots of positives in pre-season but how well he did in Germany makes you think that he is not a doughnut.

He and Cameron were deemed unfit due to their World Cup break.

Diouff is bloody quick. Does anyone on here think it's feasible that he could play off Crouchy? I've always thought that we needed someone with pace, to play off Peter.

Not writing him off this early but I was expecting a little more talent. Worked hard, but looked scared to try anything and doesnt look like a goalscorer at all. Did we really wait so long for that player??? uve pretty much just wrote him off. he played like 65-70 mins today in a team that supplied little to no service. Fuck me, some people on here!

None of our team were particularly impressive - some worse than others. I would like to think that the one's whom I would drop have had more than 70 minutes to show what they can or cannot do, but everyone has a view - as misguided as they are.

Diouf will be better away from home where defences play higher up the pitch so he can run in behind

Give him time. His record in Germany was good, his record in prem previous to us was poor. He needs to get into games and to constantly blame poor service is nonsense, also anyone who thought he played well yesterday is a tit.

The whole team played poorly from back to front. It's a simple case of the team needing to gel & understand each other, we have a lot of new players to slot in.
That really is the botoom line of it, nothing more & nothing less.
Stoke in " Team signs new players & they need time to settle into it" shocker, it was always on the cards that they wouldn't be a flowing single unit from the first game of the season.
Patience is needed.

Too soon to judge him as the service was so poor. But I think he has got to be told to stay in the middle , he was all over the place and I'm sure the rest of the team were confused as to how to find him. Crouch may be static but at least the rest of the team know where to find him.

Because he can a bit scruffy in his play he will attract detractors. He will miss chance and he will score goals. Stick with him.

Stoke fans are amazing - compared diouf on 2 games to sidibe - we really have some knobs in our support What a goal - diouf is class - anyone who saw his runs , pace , strength in the first few games knew we had a player just needing a goal We have a very good squad & will do well this seaspn Don*t listen to the knobheads - patience

A lot of Stoke fans don't understand football. He's wank if he doesn't score in 2 games whilst trying to adapt to a difficult league, whilst having little / no service...
