It's not a "slagfest" - mind you that does sound like an event well worth watching. It's reporting what's been reported. I'm saying that i listened to the game...the commentator & summarizer said Ness was bad (as were the rest)...he got abuse when he was subbed ("Ness getting plenty of abuse there, not what you like to hear from your support but i guess they pay their money")...caller on the radio did single him out for abuse. I'm not having a pop or a slagfest, i really want one of them. I'm passing on info about how one of the players who are on our books went on as a Crewe loanee today. Didn't think for one minute you were Honest! And you clearly stated you listened to it on the radio. As Stoke fans we are just genuinely disappointed to hear one of ours can't perform at that level. But I was interested to hear the opinion of someone who went, that's why as I was curious to Hacketts comments.

Who to trust, him or you.....toughie! Well if you think back to your posts about Crewe players I recall you saying we should have signed Max Clayton and you were adamant he's go for over a million when I said there's no way he was good enough and nobody would pay anywhere near that. He went on trial at various clubs and nobody thought he was worth a gamble and in the end they sold him for around 300k to Bolton. I still would have gone for Max Clayton.

I'm not saying he's a bad player he has potential but in my opinion he didn't even prove himself on a consistent basis in league one, he was having trouble making the step up from League 2 before he got injured and was struggling to get a start.

Crewe are heading towards league 2 with their near neighbours vale. There's no doubt Crewe are going down and I don't think Davis has much time left, Vale on the other hand will be ok they've got a manager the players want to play for and one of the best squads in the division.

It's signings like this that prove beyond doubt that the, "so and so is a football professional and therefore knows more about the game and players than you ever will" arguement is total bollox.

I still remember the celebrations and cheers on here when we signed this pair because it meant that TP wasn't going to be allowed to spend big transfer fees.

The clues in the sentinel article about our chief exec. That's bollocks, Pulis had full control over transfers until Cartwright came in which was 6 months after he bought Ness and Edu. Ness was an odd signing, showed some, but not outstanding, potential and was struggling with fitness. Nothing to merit a Premier League team signing him. But him joining Stoke actually made more sense than going back up there to pick up Maurice Edu who was a joke figure. He couldn't hack it in the SPL; he was never going to do anything in the Premier League. So two bizarre Pulis signings. In fairness to Pulis though he did bring in N'Zonzi and Adam in the same window. The other signings at that time were Michael Kightly and Geoff Cameron. If I recall correctly though what we needed at that time was a left back and width going forward, which only one of the six signings could have addressed.
