6-1 on aggregate against a team managed by Henning Berg. Wow no wonder they are clutching at straws.

Unless I'm missing something UEFA have launched an investigation and Celtic have said nothing so how are they "clutching at straws"?

There is a precedent where a team did this and was fined £15,000. But I suspect the decision will be made on how much money the teams can generate TV wise.

Absolutely disgusting this is, getting throgth on that they should be ashamed Don't agree. Are you proposing that the team that broke the rules she be allowed to go through? Yes they got lucky, but why should they be ashamed?

Absolutely disgusting this is, getting throgth on that they should be ashamed But if Stoke lose 4-0 at say Man City in the FA cup and they fielded an illegible player you would what exactly ? Rules are rules and they broke them I don't get what is disgusting If they aren't upheld it would be chaos Some peoples sheer hatred of Glasgow Celtic clouds their vision

It's a 15k fine and the team that fielded an ineligible player go through, UEFA, like the FA make it up as they go along.

It's bollocks.
Surely we are in an age where Uefa officials are at the game and scrutinise team sheets etc so that this doesn't happen anymore.
The referee and officials allowed this slight mistake to happen.
While you have the sports arbitration court about to massively reduce Suarez ban because he's now at Barcelona. Warsaw should do the same

wouldn't have minded any club but these, rather annoyed their opponents were stupid enough to give a banned player a 2 minute cameo with the tie over, absolutely mental decision.
Celtic don't deserve to be in the Champions League but they've dropped lucky, hope they get Madrid, Liverpool and a Russian/Turk/Portugese team

Lucky bhoys! But then again teams like Legia playing in countries that are already well into their season (3 games in) have a distinctive advantage over teams from countries whose leagues haven't started - like ours and Scotland. This is a particular problem for Scottish teams who, frankly, need this disadvantage like a hole in the head. Ok - this doesn't apply to Aberdeen's defeat against Real Sociaded, but it does for St Johnstone who lost against Spartak Trnava from Slovakia (4 games into their season) and Motherwell who got dumped by a team from Iceland who are in the middle of their season! Anyway - in this tough world you take what you are given; so good luck to Celtic. They're going to need it! Because they really aren't very good! As far as we are concerned, this news may breathe life into that Celtic / SJW story!

Anyone remember the game at Sheffield Wednesday in the 07/08 promotion season?
We drew 1-1 after being 1-0 up.
Wednesday had 6 loan players on the pitch - when only 5 are allowed - something like that anyway. Think they got a 6k fine and the result stood.

Horrendous decision. 90 mins or 1 minute there's no difference .....he was named in their match day squad The score is irrelevant .....using your argument if you had an ineligible goalkeeper on the bench you could bring him in to shore it up a little if your 1st choice got injured yeah ? Again rules are rules

He had a 3 match ban and had served 2 of the matches in Warsaw's first qualifying stage, he was not registered for their first leg against Celtic and this therefore did not count as one match of his ban and Warsaw didn't realise this and played him thinking his ban was complete
