So, Yarmolenko actually confirmed he stays in Dynamo Kyiv until winter break for sure. What will be after - too early to say. Yes, there are rumours about Barcelona interest etc, etc. But the fact is he stays until winter.

Yes, there are rumours about Barcelona interest etc, etc. But the fact is he stays until winter. Seems like he's latching on to a very tenuous chain of events that would see him at Barca in Jan surely?
That, or he wants Europe's finest to queue up for a Dutch auction on a pre contract agreement for his free agent days come next Summer.
Is is he definitely staying then?

This is just becoming more and more obvious by the day that we were never really in for Yarmolenko as much as the management, media or ITK crew have led us all to believe.
I am sure we would have pursued the deal more if we had not completed the Shaqiri deal but the more this drags on, the more it smacks of a red herring that we wanted to save face and make it seem like we were still interested. Perhaps this was to maintain a positive(ish) relationship with Dynamo Kiev for any future transfers.
I think we always wanted Shaqiri and we needed to let him know and let him still think, that there were other players we could and would have pursued if required.

Yeah surkis has said it now. The bit at the bottom isn't in quotes but its the first time ive seen that figure mentioned , seems that may be a buy out clause...dunno???
Surkis: "Yarmolenko should help the team in the Champions League."
The president of "Dynamo" Igor Surkis said the midfielder Andriy Yarmolenko will not leave the club this summer.
"I think the real fans will support my decision - Yarmolenko remain at the club. At least until the winter. Should he help his team, you see what we got difficult group in the Champions League", - said Igor Mikhailovich.
"I do not know whether it will take one year as a free agent, must still live. Andrew - the team leader, the vice-captain, he needed the team," - said Surkis.
Previously, he 25-year-old confirmed that he would not leave "Dynamo" at least until the winter transfer Law.
Recall Yarmolenko term of the contract with "Dinamo" will expire in June 2016, and the optional redemption of 24.5 million euros.

I really don't see the point in signing him now. The fact he is a £30million player for £15million. That's the reason stoke want him, and the fact he will improve us while he proves to the champions league clubs he can do it in a decent league is just a bonus

They won't sell to us unless we offer something exceptional. That means the fact is he isn't a 15 million player. The bosman rule comes into effect soon, no chance will we win that race. I'm sick and tired of hearing everyday that we're signing, close to signing, maybe signing, in talks with signing him when clearly we're not. The owner is a scumbag aswell.

If you're "sick and tired of hearing everyday that we're signing" - why read the thread? The management team still think he would be a useful signing and investment, so until they think the deal is dead (which it looks like it is), they will continue to pursue even if that pisses off a few people on the Oatcake. As the Shaqiri deal showed, trying to sign this level of player takes a while - and sometimes comes back to life after it's been written off.

We could still be in the Pulis era of transfers, waiting for the bigger teams to finish up their business and picking up the pieces. Business has been done early within reason and the squad is looking very well improved, but A new signature for DM wouldn't go amiss in my eyes.

And en route to his path to a CL Euro club, we get a very, very good (& more versatile than is perhaps acknowledged) footballer for however long before we (hopefully) make a decent profit.
Completely accept the worries about CM & CB, but if there is a sniff a chance, we should be in there fighting for him for me.

He's said he will stay, his Chairman has said he will stay, so why hasn't this been shit-binned yet? For the same reason that the Shaqiri thread wasn't binned when he said there was no way he would sign for Stoke? In any case threads like this never get shit binned - they just drop off the front page when people stop posting. So you'd best stop posting on it if you don't want to see it on the front page.

If you don't want to read it then don't open it instead of opening it, posting on it and bumping it to the top again. If nobody had an interest it will fall down soon enough. Loons the lot of you

As the Shaqiri deal showed, trying to sign this level of player takes a while - and sometimes comes back to life after it's been written off. The shaqiri deal is completely different mate. Mancini wanted Shaqiri gone. Once Shaqiri realised he wasn't going to play for Inter, he chose the best offer, ours. I don't think the deal was ever dead, but more our offer still stands if he changes his mind. Yarmolenko is completely different. He wants to move, not to us, but a champions league club. The only chance we would sign him was this window as he's going on a free next and won't be able to compete wages wise. I'm sorry, but Surkis doesn't get the same kind of hard on when he hears there's an offer from Stoke compared to Spurs or Liverpool etc. He holds all the power until June 2016. The deal is dead

That's right, we could still be bringing in Ryan and Bego, Ric and Mama, Rory, Ethers, BT and JP. We could be chasing Whelan and Walters, Wilson, Cameron, Crouch, N'Zonzi and Lenny, Sorro and Huth. These players and plenty of others have given blood, sweat and tears to our club. They were brought in by TP who gelled them into a significant force that moved our club forwards at pace. Perhaps the TP transfer methods weren't so bad after all. Just because TP and LMH do things differently doesn't mean either is right or wrong. There is an argument that only desperate clubs sign players at the start of a transfer window before realising all of the options available to them. Those who wait until the end don't always get best value for money. (I know Mama was technically signed by Boskamp, but it was TP who set up the deal)
