My main impression of that video is how depressing it is to see Shotton strutting his stuff with us still.

Thanks for posting. This may sound a bit sad but I really enjoyed watching that, You almost learn more about how good players are by watching them in these situations when they have a little more time than you do in the hurly burly of match day. It's the same with squash which is the game I know best. Watch 2 world class players knocking up and you just think "wow - that ball is being struck like it should be" I like how it's "uncut". I was half expecting a shower scene with Mark Hughes spunking into Jon Walters' shower gel.

Spinksy doesn't actually tell us anything there at all does he? Is he out there watching them train? If he is, how are they setting up? Even with friendlies, I would imagine the manager would not want the press giving away ahead of the game exactly how we are going to set up.

You still there since Sat, What's the attraction!?! Good pubs, good beer and football can't go wrong in my opinion God knows where you went. We have been there since Saturday too and everywhere shut at 9pm

Semi-interesting that if Bardsley and Wilko aren't risked through lack of fitness, Spinksy speculates Wilson will get the nod at RB ahead of Shotton.
If true, suppose it's fair enough to give the player closer to first team contention another 90 minutes, but it does show how pointless Shotton's presence continues to be.
Jerome, meanwhile plays with the U-21s, and could have at least made a fist of patrolling the right wing for 45 minutes in the first 2 games. A bit baffling how he was singled out like that. I wonder how it was explained to him that he was going to be only one left behind, while the likes of Ness, Palacios, Shea and Shotton got a berth on the trip - while he, who started virtually ever game for a Premier League team last year, is left with the kids?
It could be an idea, though, as Spinksy speculates, to give Shea the start on the right tonight

From watching that video, the what I'd say is the first team are in white bibs in the what looks like the 11 a side game. You've got Diouf, Shawcross, Whelan and Wilson.....

It could be an idea, though, as Spinksy speculates, to give Shea the start on the right tonight Someone on Twitter suggested he started Shotton in protest. "This is how much we need a right winger". But likely just giving people games. Seems bizarre though, he's not in plans, he's out of position and has offered nothing in the way of performances on the tour. In fairness to Ness and Shea, they've not done themselves any harm out there, and Palacios hasn't played yet so some fringe players are standing out more than others. I'd like to see Shea and Arnie start, but reckon Bojan may start out wide with Arnie, Ireland CAM and Diouf up top

Tean vs Schalke Begovic; Wilson, Shawcross (c), Huth, Pieters; Bojan, Whelan, Ireland, Nzonzi, Arnautovic; Diouf Decent looking team imo. Would be nice to see Diouf bag a goal although I think we'll be doing well to get any result against these lot.

It could be an idea, though, as Spinksy speculates, to give Shea the start on the right tonight Good point. Wilson and Bardsley are probably ahead of Wilko for the RB position as is G-Cam which puts Shotton as 5th choice RB and he's surely not being groomed for a RM spot! I personally would have preferred Jerome on the bench last season instead of that Jon Spaghetti and I'd be starting SJW out wide (right) in these friendlies as that's where he was used during the latter stages of last season.
