You have to be flexible these days. Remy is one of those players that is. As is Arnautovic, Bojan, Odemwingie and Walters. It's no good having a rigid system if you have rigid players.

It's just I don't really see the merit in concluding what would be the biggest deal in our history and then not play him in his best position.

Stoke will not pay £85k a week wages or give him a signing on fee big enough to sign for our wage cap.

Even if he is, he wants to join and will join a better club than us. There are no better clubs than us. Bigger, yes, but not better! Love to see him here because he's lethal, can't see it happening, though. Think Arsenal could do worse than sign him.

We could maybe scrape him into our wage range now that he has failed an extensive Liverpool medical as it should in theory, reduce his wage demands and transfer value. However,if we are up against Arsenal for his signature...we're screwed

Friend works at the academy, says there are rumblings we are in for Remy as the £8.5 million price tag is within our price range. However, huge issue would be his wage demands as he is likely to be demanding minimum £80k pw. Plus, by all accounts, he wants euro football. Preferably champs league. This obviously makes it unlikely but it's nice to hear the calibre of player we are looking at.

If he did sign, he'd have to play. He's not gonna drop Arnie, he won't have Diouf on the bench, and you'd think we'll try and get Bojan in and firing ASAP. I know it's cloud-talk as he'll go somewhere with more money than us, but I'd think our strongest starting XI would have to look like: Begovic Bardsley Shawcross Huth Muniesa Whelan N'Zonzi Remy Bojan Arnautovic Diouf
Which looks fit as fuck but would definitely mean Adam would leave I think.

Agree with that Boother but would swap Huth and Shawcross.

Like I said previously, I think it's unlikely we will get him. Not sure about Chelsea as they have Torres, Lukaku, Costa and Drogba. More likely he could go to Arsenal. I think he is too big for us in terms of wages, out current status compared to other clubs that are likely to be in for him. As I said, it's nice to see the standard of player we are looking at. I just think this is a step too far

Rumour says the medical thing is just a cover up for the real reason as Lpool now have found out that Remy has never played for Southampton!

So Remy is a risk due to his medical but Lallana at some hugely inflated fee isn't?

Imagine if we did sign Remy now, and then Ba in january. I bet Ba's knees would explode in his first game for us and Remy would be hit by a falling helicopter filled with wages.
