Good Championship quality player but we need better on the bench if we want to be a consistent top 10 team. Wouldn't be a bad option for a newly promoted team. Ask Wigan supporters about his quality in the Championship, they actually experienced it. Fair play, didn't have a great time of it there, but was playing for a team in transition - recently relegated, new manager, and lost their better players. Still reckon he'd do a good job in the right team in Championship.

He'll probably go out on loan to a Championship club, as Sky Sports reported a couple of months back.
Isn't good enough for the Prem.

Oh for FFS do we have to belittle and humiliate one of our own with a thread like this?

How is it belittling to say he is a poor player and should be moved on? Truthful, not belittling.

I raise you a Ricky Fuller , Pulis made his choice on that one. (He slapped his captain up the face he scores our goals and he's fucking ace RF Stoke city's number 10)
That incident was out of passion when a team mate lost the game, not blatant disregard of the clubs rules
LOL, Pulis made his own rules then , assaulting a team mate on the pitch is less of an offence ...............................

One of our own , what on earth do you mean who cares where he comes from, he has earned more in a short time than most of Stokie's will earn in a lifetime very lucky boy, found out now Pulis has gone.

Yet Pulis was supposedly not picking kiddies? Dammed if you dammed if you don't

He was playing shotton in front of wilko though wasn't he? Which is 2 academy players for our academy status.
True but let's be honest Wilko would have done a better job on the wing than Shotton, next Gareth Bale WTF
Was never said

To even mention Bale though was silly at best but he was a media train wreck.

I'm sure that people just pluck these wages figures out of the air because these very reliable sources are talking a load of shite.
Shotton is not on and never has been on a contract anywhere near £20k a week
His first contract was for £2.5k a week then when he had a new one it went up to £7.5k a week because he was getting regular first team football.
With regard to the playing on the wing issue, he hasn't been shoved there, it is the position he actually wants to play and develop in.

People go on about how he has been played in the wrong position; ''he should be Right Winger, no He's better at Right Back'' but basically if he was any good he'd adapt his play to fit the position, a bit like Geoff Cameron who has been here and there. Shotts, unfortunately, doesn't have and will now at 25 never have, the ability to read play/pass the ball accurately and tackle effectively where ever he plays. GET RID !!

Came from the horses mouth with four witness's, unless of course he was not telling the whole truth , as for wing been his preferred position , if true he needs to move as soon as possible if someone is prepared to take him.

Yep defo exaggerating a bit as my info was from him directly the day after he signed the contract. And to be realistic are stoke really going to give him 8 times the wages of his first contract. Agree with the selling of him too as he is not good enough

Played under the previous manager because he had a long throw. There was no other logical reason.
Poor technique, poor awareness and poor athletically. Decent 2nd Div player, if he could be arsed.

Why has everyone 'apparently' met marmite up Hanley? I haven't. I did once meet Carl Beeston in HMV, though. I say meet, I mean he was two aisles away, I made no effort to approach him or get his attention and he never knew I was there.

I would have gone over to say hello, but I wasn't actually there, and even if I had been then I wouldn't have been arsed.

I cant see why so many people think that Shotts is not good enough to play prem football. True, he is not the best technical player we will ever have, not by a million miles. But he IS versatile, hes decent enough defensively, he works his bollocks off and, YES, he has a long throw. He is a decent squad player if nothing else.

You see, despite playing loads of Premier League games, Ryan Shotton, just like SJW, is not a Premier League player.

Championship side Wigan wanted Shotts on a Permanent basis until the manager left. At that point no other teams either in the Championship or Premiership have come in girl the player that mark Hughes rarely uses even as a reserve. The evidence suggests that a Championship team would be a good move fir the Stoke born player. Tony Pulis has not been linked with him either. My own personal view us that he isn't Premiership standard and as such he is very much surplus to requirements to us now.
