We have a real lack of options out wide.
These players (who we know will make an impact) are not two a penny.
We've had Shotton playing there today.

I think it illustrates more that we need someone for the right side more than a back up left winger, obvs not forgetting Odem still to come back. The three behind the forward are very fluid though and Assaidi fits that bill which is why Hughes is chasing him. He knows he can play in the system and be effective. I'll be surprised if we're chasing him much longer if his wage demands are accurate, personally i don't think he's that effective, I think he's a decent player and would happily have him as back up for a more realistic fee, but he does get a little over hyped on here.

It wasn't 442 though was it? Straight from the kick off Bojan ran alongside Diouf for 30 seconds then dropped back in the hole. It's the same system Hughes has used for years...4231. Don't agree mate. Shotton was playing orthodox right midfielder. Bojan kept going ever deeper as it was the only way he could get the ball. Ireland wasn't sitting with Whelan in the way N'Zonzi and Glenn carry out the role. To me it was a stick on 442 that saw us struggle to get a foothold in midfield which meant Bojan dropping to the half way line to receive the ball.

Just before the stream went down, Bardsley was on the pitch. Injury to Wilko?

Just before the stream went down, Bardsley was on the pitch. Injury to Wilko? Looked like he got a groin strain after blocking a shot about 5 mins before he came off.

I just hope Hughes knows how to use Bojan correctly otherwise we'll have another Tuncay situation.

Just because the end result might look like a 442 doesn't mean that it was.

I like the look of Nzonzi and Sidwell. I wonder when Hughes will feed them in with Bojan and Diouf?

Yeah think it was meant to be 4-2-3-1 but I can see why Jamo thought it was 4-4-2 because Bojan was drifting further and further forward as the half went on, just before the stream went down, he was virtually playing alongside Diouf.
