Blackpool would be a good team for him, guaranteed games at least if he can stay fit

I'm surprised he hasn't got something sorted sooner tbh, maybe he's asking for too much?
I can see TP being interested. Or if he wants to get closer to Cornwall, Brizzle City? It's not that close but it's about the biggest club down there.

linkHe was on Talksport between 2000 and 2200 last night. Talked quite a lot about Stoke. Said he had a couple of options, but got the impression they weren't that tantalising so he's looking for something better

Hope he gets the chance to go the America or Arab leagues. Would be good for him to get a good pension after all the money he gave to the bookies.

Are they the ones he used to put his money on If you're reading Ethers it's all in jest! Hope he gets fixed up soon, deserves a decent club. Personally if I was managing any of the promoted clubs I'd be talking to him. He's top class and, fitness permitting, he could do a job in the top flight still.

Saw him at the Open at Hoylake last weekend. Was starstruck to shake his hand. He said he had a few offers but was weighing them up. Didn't mention any clubs by name though.

Very tough for the likes of Matty - has played to a high standard at the top level so has an ides of his own worth.
But, in a buyers market, he will find that idea ain't shared. Those folks will be looking at his last 12 months at Stoke not his overall record. And therein lies his problem.

It's one of the few situations in football that relate to the real world? Good luck to Matty though, great footballer and a good lad.

Hope he gets fixed up, he's got real pedigree. Matty's definitely a confidence player and need a run to get going. Best of luck to him, great servant of the club.

A vastly underrated signing for this club. No-one underrates his service to stoke. Him and Beattie gave us the impoteus to stay up in first season Unfortunately for both Matty and stoke he was never the same after the injury against wolves. And he had one of the biggest ovations in years on the final game

Ethers training with us to gain fitness, Teddy must be rubbing his hands at the opportunity to mug him off again.

he surely would be a fantastic addition to any championship side, and even a newly-promoted team to the premier league could do with his skill and experience, even if not as a regular starter

No reason he can't do a very good job for a top half championship side. I know it's impossible, but if we'd ever had him and Lawrence firing on all cylinders together we would have been great going forward
