Are there any more successful clubs who have been promoted to the Prem?

Newcastle Utd? West Ham? Fulham? Middlesbrough? Bolton? Sunderland? Leicester City? Charlton? WBA? Portsmouth? Norwich City?
All those clubs were promoted to the Premier League at one point and have had more seasons in it than we have.

There are only 7 clubs who are ever present in the Prem: Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Villa, Everton, Liverpool and Chelsea. So, any club apart from them who has more seasons/points than us or Wigan is, by definition, more successful.

Here is a table of points scored in the Premier League since it started. We are 29th. By my reckoning that means that (ignoring the 7 ever present teams) there are 21 promoted teams more successful than us - including Wimbledon! Prem League all time points table

To cheer you up - we are 16th in the table in respect of points per game. * But 38th in respect of goals per game! EDIT. * our points per game is far better than many clubs who regard themselves as "bigger" than us. Have a look at Sunderland's PPG!

Should gain 5 or 6 places by the end of this next season.

Should gain 5 or 6 places by the end of this next season. Yes, and if we can break the 50 point barrier for a couple more seasons we won't be far off top ten in terms of points per game.

It's interesting to see that the baggies despite playing over 75 games more than us in the PL have only picked up 26 more points than ourselves.

Didn't realise football started in 1992 Of course it didn't - and as someone who has watched Stoke for about 60 years, I'd be the last to claim that it did. But the original post was about clubs who had been promoted to the Premier League, so you can't really answer it without confining your answer to the the period when the Prem was is existence.

What's more MH has managed 2 of the top 10 (and also played for 2 of them in his era!)

Putting our famous old clubs name in the OP with that fantastically lucky, only been around for 'five minutes', mickey mouse pub team, based in a rugby town - quite offensive

Quite interesting (well, in this context anyway) that all of the teams above us have played more games than us and all the teams below us except Derby have played less - all with thanks to their absolute stinker 17 point season.

The second table (of average points per game) is an indication of how well clubs have done in their time in the Prem. We are 16th in that table and a repeat of last year's points finish would probably see us up to about 12th by the end of the coming season. It may not always have seemed like it but we've actually done bloody well since promotion - makes up to some extent for all those years in the wilderness! EDIT: Of the clubs currently in the Prem, we are 11th in the PPG table. Hopefully we'll soon be in the top ten if we can finish above Wet Sham this coming season.

One thing I find a bit crazy bearing in mind that for what seems like an eternity, the Premier League was an absolute pipe dream for most of us and felt as far away as the moon, is that IF we maintain our Premier League status for at least 2 more seasons then we will have been involved in exactly 1/3rd of the Premiership/Premier League seasons (8 out of 24)...
Just me then?!...
