From his twitter feed, Geoff Cameron seems to be on some extended "meet the people" tour of the good ole US of A.
I'm aware that Peter Odemwingie hasn't returned from his world cup leave either, but I wonder whether Geoff is actually going to return, ir whether his future lies elsewhere ?
Please discuss.

I think he must be standing for Governor or summat!
He's certainly pressing the flesh!

Sparky gave all the World Cup players an extended leave of absence, so that's Asmir, Geoff, Peter and Wilson, who's extended leave of absence probably extends indefinitely.
I imagine they will meet the players in Germany and complete the rest of the tour. I don't think Hughes has any intention of selling Geoff Cameron. Would be a ridiculous decision if he did.

Amir and Wilson got knocked out in the group stages of the WC so come back earlier than PO and GC who made it to the last 16. They'll be back on Monday I suspect

They'll be back on Monday I suspect It was announced before the tour to Germany started that Cameron and Wingie, because they reached the knockout stages of the WC, would not rejoin the squad until the team returned from Germany. Makes sense, I think - they needed the extended break and it would make little sense for them to report back to Stoke and then head out to Germany for just a few days, when they would not train enough to play in the remaining game. I expect they'll get a couple of days training in at Clayton Woods before the rest of the squad comes back.

Has Geoff really had a break since joining us. Played his first season then summer internationals, then another full season, then the world cup. Think he deserves one.

Said it at the end of last season. He and Shawcross played more league games than any other player. Add in the fact he also played the cup games and he made 41 appearances last season and 38 the season before. He then went straight to the first set of summer internationals then the World Cup. That would be tough for anyone and I imagine he's a bit jaded. I wouldn't blame Hughes if he gave him a month of light training just to get him back into the fold. There's absolutely no reason for Cameron to leave. For most people, he's easily done enough to warrant a place on our bench and for some even a continued crack at right back or in centre mid. We'll see.

Palacios is already back with the squad in Germany. At least he's another Spanish speaker to help Bojan settle in.

"Hello Bojan, I am Wilson how are you" "I'm good thanks Wilson, do me a favour, when you clean my boots tonight, can you make sure you don't damage the studs" "But I'm not boot cleaner, I'm football player" "You are, christ what have I done?"

Wish Sparky had given WP an extended, extended leave of absence akin to 5 years..

Didn't he come to us straight after the MLS season had finished as well? Cameron joined us in the middle of the MLS season which had 3 or 4 months to run when he joined us. By the time his first season with us finished he had been playing for about 14 months without a proper break - and in the International breaks he flew the Atlantic to play for USA.

Why do people feel the need to put 'please discuss' at the end of there threads etc? It's a message board so people will comment on it if they feel they want to without being prompted. Is it me just being a miserable got because I'm sweating my tits off? Please discuss

Come off it MMLC, you know as well as I do that, according to some of our fellow posters, you only need a squad of 17 or 18 players for a top half finish!

Cameron will have a better season than Bardsley. Please discuss. Like someone said yesterday - I don't get why people put "discuss" at the end of a post. It is a discussion board and that's what you do on a discussion board. it is a bit like a waiter bringing you the meal you ordered in a restaurant and saying "please eat it".

Cameron will have a better season than Bardsley. Please discuss. I reckon he'll be on the bench at the start of that season so his campaign is likely to revolve around how well Bardsley starts off.

Cameron will have a better season than Bardsley. Please discuss. If that's to be the case it won't be at Stoke, there just seems to many ahead of him in all positions.

I think he may well start as first choice right back . I don't think there is much to choose between Geoff and Bardsley especially if Geoff can rediscover his early season form.

I can't see us spending the money we have on Bardsley to stick him on the bench, also add that he is a genuine RB and knows how to play the position, I just can't see it being a difficult decision to let Cameron fight it out for a different position, one he actually plays.

Shotton and Wilko, now, really should have no place in the squad as there is much better and talented individuals in the team even to cover for Cup matches. Please discuss and show working out in the margins, extra points will be given for reasoned arguments.

I'd be surprised if we still have both of them come the start of the season, I thinks Shotts will be off, a shame really as he showed he was good enough to play RB but hasn't had the chance to show it since Hughes came in.

That's because when he gets the ball in the oppositions half he hasn't got the first clue what to do with it. Apart from whack it as hard as he can towards the penalty area or the Boothen end He quite simply and plainly isn't good enough for a team o our aspirations.
