I don't know why Hughes didn't sell him with a by-back clause to a club in Spain where due to his Columbian heritage he'd get an EU passport in two years and Stoke could just buy him back.
It's not like everything was done to keep him.

I think its partially down to FIFA rules, after the first failed work permit we weren't allowed to release him without paying him off, or go back on the agreement to sign him etc. After the second failed work permit under the rules the contract had to be terminated so in both circumstances our hands were tied pretty much irrespective of what we wanted.

Still a bit gutted it never happened. I have this vision of him going on and becoming a top striker now, someone who you can rely on to bag 20 a season. Hopefully it won't happen and we won't regret it, but I just feel like with our kind of luck, it's absolutely written into the script.

Paul McDonough before taking the job at Orlando used to be Juan's agent I believe. My guess is that Agudelo is just training with people he knows while he finds a club

If we had of got a permit sorted for Agudelo, do you think we would of still gone in for Bojan?
Genuine question.

No I don't think we would have, I think I mentioned this on the Bjoan thread last week, if it was out of the two of them I really think we made the right choice letting Agudelo go. We KNOW that Bojan has it in him to be a success in a top league, Agudelo is still a big gamble, although they had similar seasons in Holland last year.

Im sure that Agudelo could be a very good player but in a straight choice between him and Bojan, its a non-contest IMO. We definitely made the correct choice.

Bojan seems to be more of a centre behind the main striker like the Ireland/Adam role. Where Juan players better to the side of the striker more where Arnie or Odemwingie were playing
