No one is too good to go down, it could happen to anyone, but I can't see us finishing below Villa, Brazil, Burnley, Leicester, QPR, Sunderlona and Swansea at least.

We're 16th FFS! Edit: The Offical website has us 16th below Tottenham which, alphabetically, we should be above so make that 15th!

No are we bollocks. The 3 shittest teams in the league relegated, if that's us then clearly we're not good enough.

Probably.
I don't think we have massively improved our team with our signings, however, we have certainly got no worse and I don't really think try other teams have progressed to the extent that would endanger us.

No, anybody is game other than the obvious teams, average premier teams are always dropping. Just look at Newcastle, Sunderland, West ham, Leeds, Southampton etc...

No and we must never let ourselves think we are or we're in the shit. The first priority for 13/20 must always to be to stay in the league.

The club's first priority must be 40pts (and that is true of 12 teams in the Prem)

The current Chelsea team is too good to go down and couldn't get relegated even if Bryan Robson was their manager. I guess that answers half of the question.

On paper you'd say we were too good to go down.
However, when we were promoted, on paper, we weren't good enough to stay up.
The key is utilizing your resources to the max, and playing as a team with a good spirit! Can't emphaisze the importance of that. We have it, some teams don't.

Probably true to say of the top 6 but anyone else no. We always spend at least three months of the year in the relegation places.

The season the management and players believe that is the season we go down.
Fortunately I don't think the players or the management believe that currently.

The season the management and players believe that is the season we go down. Fortunately I don't think the players or the management believe that currently. The only reason I disagree is that its based upon a negative mindset. I'd prefer us to be asking ourselves: Are we good enough to finish 8th? If we finished 9th last season, have strengthened smartly and the team above us have lost their manager and 3 of their big players (still to see who they will bring in) then the answer has to be yes. 40 points will be a milestone, of course, but we want to be looking to hit that by 26 games

'Are we too good to go down?'. Only time will tell, we are UNLIKELY to go down, but that is far different than 'too good', to go down.

Let me answer the question with another question...
Are Man United, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton and Spurs too good to go down?

No but there will be several teams worse than us. I do think the expectations of some posters on here are a bit over the top though, we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves

Very unlikely to go down, but no one is too good. Some bad luck, a couple of key injuries and some bad form and you can quickly find yourself in a dogfight.

Probably. I don't think we have massively improved our team with our signings, however, we have certainly got no worse and I don't really think try other teams have progressed to the extent that would endanger us. Are you kidding me? Diouf, if he performs, will be a massive improvement on Crouch or Odemwingie with his sheer pace, height and movement combined.

Nor am I saying we shouldn't be confident in our ability to do very well. But....looking at other clubs it seems pretty obvious to me that solid, stable Prem clubs (as we now are) usually only get in trouble when the players start to believe the "too good to go down" bollocks.
