With all due respect to ourselves, im sure theres plenty of average players at the top clubs who would be absolutely fantastic signings for us. He's had so much pressure at those top clubs of living up to his 'next lionel messi' status, that this is the first time he wont be expected to be a world beater. If he can have as much influence in the second half of the season as Arnie did,and have some memorable moment like the ones Assaidi bought us,then i think that would be a VERY successful first season. We've now got Arnie settled in and ive got more confidence in Diouf burying more of the chances that was created for Crouch and co last season.
There's absolutely no pressure on the lad here,no monster transfer fee to live up to, so lets hope he settles well and relatively quickly and see him turn up the quality after Christmas

I had exactly the same experience today. Living and working in Scotland and being a stokey i don't really get this sort of thing happen, but a Dundee utd fan and an Aberdeen fan commented.<br/>
I thought i was the only stokie north of the border

Big transfers lead to attention. Just a part of doing business. No worries here.

Certainly caught me out today. Where 'aboots' are you barlow1? I'm up in Elgin

Bet if we won the league we still wouldn't get noticed by Hodgson Fuck Hodgson and fuck England Leave Ingerlund to people from obscure Home Counties commuter towns without an identity or club to support.

"Stoke City definitely getting noticed".
Yesterday morning, 8 o' clock sports news, in Thai language, here in Thailand, Bojan signing was the first news item.
Fooking great watching clips of Sertoke at eight in the morning thousands of miles away.
What's even more impressive is that Everton are playing Leicester in Bangkok on Sunday, but we were on the news first.
Am i a glory hunter?

When I went into HM Dockyard to start my back-shift yesterday, I was almost given a hero's reception, and my workmates range from the obligatory shit fans to die-hard Tranmere fans. There was also a very satisfying jealousy coming from some especially from one Gooner in particular.(Tucker you prick!). I know we have to try and quell our expectations ,but in 32 years of watching City I've never felt this excited about a forthcoming season. Can't wait.
