England Squad named... Cook Robson Ballance Bell Root Moeen Ali Buttler Stokes Broad Plunkett Anderson Jordan Woakes I know it's nowhere near the main talking point but how Chris Woakes always gets picked for the squad is most baffling than mr baffle on baffle day at baffle races, in downtown baffleville. As long as he doesn't play then i guess it doesn't matter.

Good job they've reacted to the last Test.
Why has Kerrigan been dropped from the squad?
Agree with you about Woakes - he must be behind Plunkett and Jordan - so what chance has he got?

No redaction really mate , just Buttler in for Prior .....Kerrigan wasn't in the original squad for Lord's , he was a later addition to it ...I'm not sure why they haven't included him for this one ?

Yes - disappointing really. What do they have to do before someone at the top says no more?

No surprise. Captan Calamity continues to skipper the Ship of Fools.
Our selectors continue to show no leadership. English cricket is in crisis and we have no one in charge with the courage to make difficult decisions.
Our friends down under must be laughing their socks off.

I look at Woakes and think maybe I should have tried harder when I was younger! I hope Tim Munton and Peter Such are past it!

This will make or break the series, lose and I fully expect us to lose 4-0.
Win, and well you never know.

On a more sensible ( and cheerful ) note ....I see that Jonathan Trott has hit a hundred for Warwickshire today, really good news and I'm very pleased for him ....I'm not sure whether we will see him in England. colours again but nice to see him on the come back trail all the same .

Kerrigan was never in the squad he was invited to be around the set up so he can get comfortable with the set up again and get net practice with the first 11.
Glad to see Butler in and Woakes again has plenty of promise.

Glad to see Butler in and Woakes again has plenty of promise. He was a later addition to the squad at Lord's .....definately as a selection option if the pitch warranted it, Cook has stated this in an interview he gave before the game

Bloody Woakes is playing! Three changes for England. Buttler, Jordan and Woakes in for Prior, Plunkett & Stokes. Eng won the toss and bat.... Hold on to your hats!

Plunkett dropped. I think there is now clear evidence that the Captain and Management have completely list their marbles. Idiotic decision.

Reward the poor bowlers in the last test and dump the bowlers that performed - well were the better ones! It's hard to think our bowling attack has been strengthened with these picks, our tail has been, marginally, improved. But bowling is not the immediate concern. All eyes on Captain Cock! You are so far overdue a score. Make it happen today. Otherwise, please go.

I thought that they said that they made the decision due to fitness/injuries? personally I would rather they rested him for this one, rather than risking him not playing in any of the other tests. But if he had to be replaced I would have brought finn back in for a bit of variety.
