Shit won't be using them again cheaper tickets would of been better,or they should of asked the fans to vote on what we wanted and gone with the flow.

Cracking. £20 saved per game. People moan at the dead atmos and that you can't drink, but I couldn't give two shits.

Away clubs set the price at which we sell tickets Away clubs set a ticket price Marc - but the away club can subsidise the tickets if they wish to do so. We had a few home games last season where the away club subsidised the tickets for their fans. Fulham was one of them, I think.

But I do think it is sad that the club has a scheme which is of very little benefit to exiles like me. I'd love a tenner off some of the away games in the north of England, for example. Especially as home games cost the group I travel with over £50 in fuel. But, I'm pleased for the locals who get cheap coach travel.

Yes seriously, i like to make my own way to away games and travel the way i find more comfortable so this scheme will achieve nothing for me. Plus you have to make your way to the stadium so technically it's not free travel unless they can pick me up in Kidsgrove.

I plan on coming to a few games this year, maybe even an away one. This is decent, but I usually just find my own way to away games. Granted, last time I went to an way fixture was seven years ago lol.

I never use it either but that doesn't mean I think it's a bad move by the club. It gives some fans a chance to get to away games they perhaps otherwise would have missed. Football is an expensive luxury in poor financial times for a lot of people. If the club can help put more bums on seats by putting their hands in their pockets then that can only be a good thing in my opinion. The fact it doesn't benefit me personally is irrelevant. I'd love the club to pay my mortgage off and send me on holiday to Hawaii but I won't he holding my breath.

Well done Stoke, it encourages some additional away support - most beneficial to the team imo

[/b] The point that is being highlighted here, is that the system is encouraging some additional fans to attend away games. The offer is there for all fans who choose to save some money when attending an away game

I think we should get the supporters council involved: -
* Away ticket prices capped at £5 * £5 price to include free pie and 5 drinks * Free travel to all away games, including collection from house and return to doorstep * Free alcohol and food on executive coach * Jennifer Anniston on bus for blowies (Brad Pitt for the ladies) * Guaranteed 3 points from the match, or a full ticket refund * Personal masseuse for each fan behind seat in stadium * Jennifer Anniston back for half time activities * Immediate refreshments at half time without any queueing whatsoever (or a full ticket refund) * The club takes responsibility to contact all fans' place of work to arrange time off to allow access to ALL games * The club guarantees the sun will always be out on matchday
Some fucker draw up the petition, lets get some bastarding signatures on board and lets sort this fucking disgrace of a situation out, once and for all.

Definitely the right thing to do, much better than a couple of quid of the odd ticket now and then.

Money off all tickets is the equitable way to distribute this allocated money.
I am slightly disappointed the club have chosen this route once again.
As mentioned above, it would have been nice to have been consulted on such a large decision that affects the whole fanbase.

To add fuel to the fire, it was at the discretion of each Premier League Club as to how the subsidy should be used.
I know that one visiting club provided a reduced price entry ticket, free pie and pint , at the Brit last season.
It's an easy swipe ro make, but I'm constantly amazed at how little input the Supporters Council has on the most influential fan-related decisions; whether it be the design of the new flag, application of the supporters subsidy or even removal of the interest-free Season Ticket payment plan, the club pays lip service to the supporters.
Maybe it's the price we have to pay to be a top-half Premier League team, but it's another reinforcement that we're clients in name only and have little or no input into our club.
I can see how it suits the club, and the sheep that regularly pay and don't moan, but it smacks again of no flair or imagination by the club.
For the supporter base to expand, wouldn't it be more original to offer a free match ticket to a family member, or even a free family match ticket, in these austere times ?
Rant over

Definitely the right thing to do, much better than a couple of quid of the odd ticket now and then. I agree. The grant is for £200k over 19 games that's around a £1 saving a ticket for 1000 people. Not exactly going to get extra people thinking Jesus that's a bargain. But if 200 + fans don't need to pay travel costs that will bring in more travelling fans surely
