Good news. Less wages paid for nothing. Less money down the gutter. Let Hughes build a good competitive squad and let's get rid of all the deadwood

On the SLP facebook page there is a tweet from the Qatar Sports Club confirming that Palacios has signed and welcoming him to the club. SLP have pointed out that they have not verified the Sports Club's twitter account.
Good news if true - getting his wages (and others) off the wage bill is vital to free up wages for the new signings. So excluding Kightly, who was on loan last season, we have lost the wages of Ethers, Palacios and Jerome (allegedly). Who will be next and who would you like to see off the bill before the window closes?
I'll suggest that Shotton will be gone. Probably Walters* and I would not be surprised if Adam left either.
In addition I'd like to lose Ness, Shea (unless he plays a blinder in pre-season) and Edu permanently.
* I think the decision between Walters and Crouch may depend upon what type of forward player we bring in.
Edit: would anyone want to buy Rodwell if it meant, say, Whelan or Cameron leaving? I'd be tempted - I think there is still a great player inside Rodwell who just needs regular game time to get back to his best.

This is the best transfer of the summer.
I'd have given him away for a fiver.
Now lets replace him with a young lad who can grow with us.

This is the best transfer of the summer. Yep. There's no need to pillory the lad now he's gone but if we signed James Rodrigues, Messi and Thomas Muller for a fiver this afternoon this would still be the best news of this window by a mile.

Is that Ness? If so then no way can he be described as a holding midfielder. Has he EVER played a game in that position?

Well recognised - our very own mysterious, rarely sighted Nessie. I should have put a smiley winky think on my original post. I wasn't being entirely serious about him replacing Palacios. There, that's better!

Now let's get rid of Shea and edu permanently. Ness and shotton as well. Wilko is completely useless and as per my various previous posts I don't rate him at all - top lad but extremely limited and talentless player. Plus with bardsley and Cameron he really is surplus to requirements. Jerome should be leaving as well. So with WP included if all the players I mentioned here are off-loaded there would be 7 useless wages less to pay and more money available for players who will really make a difference in our team

It certainly frees up a good chunk of money to be able to go and sign someone else.
It's best for everyone that he moves on.
Tone got stitched up by his supposed "mate" on that deal who must have known Wilson's state of mind when selling him to us.

Will we sign someone to replace him, or use Cameron as midfield cover?.

Need to be careful that we don't lose too many.

Good luck Wilson, never seemed to have got over his brothers killing and never quite looked fit enough for the premier league, there was definitely talent in there but unfortunately we never got the opportunity to witness it. Gouranga.

Gouranga. I think this is the best way of putting it (instead of just slagging him off). He's a very talented player, but he comes across as someone haunted by the murder of his family member. At Tottenham he was a very good player, but I reckon Harry knew when he was letting him go that Palacios would never be the same. Shame, enjoy the money and retirement Wilson.

I would imagine a move to Doha will suit WP down to the ground.
Hot weather, slow pace, stand out player, good money.
Hope it works out for him...
