Didn't we play there one (fucking freezing) Boxing Day? I can remember our players having so little grip from their boots they were holding on to the Barnsley players in order to just stand up! Sure somebody forgot to take the right boots/studs. Promotion season 3-3 draw, Lawrence hat trick? The one I'm on about was probably mid 90's mate, and we got taught a proper lesson. I was only a kid at the time. Had to put up with the bastards singing 'it's just like watching Brazil' as well as the shit performance and freezing cold temperature. Definitely filed under a 'character building' away day

No, just checked, it was 95/96 and we lost 3-1, how we stayed on our feet long enough to score a goal I don't know, it really was farcical. I've always tried to make the Boxing Day game and have missed very few, that was probably the worst. Then we went and fucked up the play-offs after a decent result away in the first leg

Agree Shea 'should' have learnt his lesson from his own lower league / English non 'fan boy' approach to support and has no more chances left in his locker. Speaking of which I was speaking to a Swansea fan and Cardiff fan at work today and was saying how promising he looked and they both said 'oh yeah the pigs head dude' which is all they know him for, lets hope that changes

Shea played on the left side in the second half yesterday....... and he was one of the better performers in the half. Were you there dude? Glad that he did. When the stream came up towards the end of the second half he seemed to have swapped wings with Walters, which is why I thought he was deployed right against 1860. Thanks though, and glad he's doing alright this pre season. Yes Indeed....Hughes swapped him with Walters with about 20 to go - I assume to see how hed operate there. It was rayte cold n all stood on that hill !!! Just like to old Stoke end at the Vic it was - well youve probably seen the pictures A real nice place tho "Stokes a shithole - I wanna stay here"

BOJAN could be our first 'rock the city' signing in this multi platform social media age to get his every move and bodily function chronicled on one single thread, conveniently entitled 'BOJAN' as a catch all title to cover all bases. I expect at least 113 pages every match day.
Eg BOJAN enters arena , claps his hands and smiles to crowd Leslie puts arm paternally around tiny BOJAN on touch line and nearly cracks a half smile. BOJAN smiles beatifically. BOJAN warms up and adjusts hair, smiling.
on non match days updates could be posted, eg 13:06 BOJAN enjoys light of grilled chicken and steamed vegetables 16;06 I cannot see or hear BOJAN but my rudimentary knowledge of o level biology informs me that his healthy meal has made its way through his digestive tract and hopefully BOJAN is currently undertaking an enjoyable and productive defecation as I post.
2354 no lights or sound are coming from BOJANS house. BOJAN sleeps.
No BOJAN related posts to be posted elswhere - Could be a great social experiment.

He looks like a young Michael Owen in this picture I noticed when he runs he does remind me of Michael Owen in his prime, and that picture it's a similar sort of stance. He is stupidly quick across the ground.

There's going to be quite a few unhappy to read that. I'm in tears mate. It will mean stokemanusa will be starting threads left right and centre claiming shea is shit and that we're all fanboys. We was good. But lets not forget he had a similar start when he arrived here for a few weeks before the usual wheel fell off the cart and the chronic Brek injuries started to show "Ankle/knee" when he started to face English opposition. It was a game versus 1860, sign him up for Chelsea they say! I think he's got alot to prove this pre-season as it's his last chance and he knows it. We will see, I'm not jumping on the bandwagon, infact most of the players on the squad I've liked and seen less of than Shea pre-stoke got more stick and are were anything but favorites... well until they became good. I hope he turns it around as he can offer alot, it's just consistency, but I'm more skeptical of him in the PL week in week out than any other current senior. Including Shotton who has the touch of a rapist.

He looked really impressive in training yesterday, never failed to hit the target. So if he can reproduce that in games I think he could prove a lot of people wrong and I hope he does

Interesting that they played him on the right side for the last 20 against Munich. Is that the first time he has been played for Stoke (or anyone) as an "inverted winger" which is the way Hughes prefers to use his wide men? It makes some sense but only if he is a reasonable shot with his left foot. Anyone shed any light on this?

Did Bojan have a good nights sleep? Anyone know? He seemed to sleep soundly enough. Even with The Sentinels camera in his face and Spinks sat at the end of the bed with a notepad and pen.

They are the widest of the front players but are playing on the "wrong" side to be natural wingers. For example Arnie who is right footed is on the left and Shea who is left footed is on the right. There are no conventional wingers - with the full backs hopefully supplying some of the crosses. Incidentally, hre is a link to the story on the OS with a video of the last training session today. Shea is occupying the right sided role in the front 3 once they go to an 11 v 11 game at the end. link

Where've you got this from John?
Bojan didn't play in the second half against Munich and in the first half he was playing at different times, either alongside or behind Diouf.
In answer to your question, yes he has played on the right for both Barcelona and Ajax.
