They did but what in God's name did that have to do with what I posted! People Wil jizz over a winning goal when it should of been a draw. So you can't jizz over a cracking goal because they didn't deserve to win...........ok.

Look at the Iran goalies boots? Blacked out, black adidas world cups. That alone is reason enough to want Iran to win :-) Agreed, but I feel they maybe a symbol of jihad & he should have saved that goal, otherwise a good day at the office...

Hate it when Messi scores because we then have to listen to the commentators and pundits jizz fest. Yes he is World Class, as his 2 goals illustrate, bear in mind though scored against the might of Bosnia and Iran. Felt Iran's second half performance was superb, and they deserved a draw.

Great goal.
Iran should be very proud of their performance though. We would have never kept it at 0-0 for 90 minutes.

He scored against Iran, had Ronaldo done it I would of said the same. They were playing Iran, barring an own goal it is difficult to see how he could have scored against anyone else. You can only beat the team in front of you. One the things that makes him the best in the world is that he scores important goals when they are needed I was rooting for Iran to win or at least draw and yes they were robbed of a penalty..

He's done nothing to write home about though, he's scored for the tournament favorites v iran. Maybe scoring a hatrick v France in the final is a bit more of an achievement?

Wiki has his record in last two years as 9 in 12 internationals. The only thing i could think of was that it was in qualifications, but he missed a good chunk of them. I dunno, either way hes 1 of the 2 best. I think it just riles people when he does something good (but not outside the skill of others) and the reporters wank themselves silly

He scores a decent goal and its back to the 'is he the greatest player of all time' nonsense from every commentator and pundit out there. Both goals were good, but carbon copies of each other and you would expect a decent defence to know not to allow him to move onto his left so easily.

Isn't this just the same as Beckham's free kick against Greece? Old Golden Balls comes up with the goods when the chips are down and we love him. Not "Well it was only fucking Greece" or, " He did nothing for 90 minutes, he's crap really".
The commentators are bandwagon jumpers of the highest order. They haven't got an original thought between them. The non-penalty was Iran's bad luck not Messi's goal.

Thought the same then, think its half the problem with Rooney, if some players take a shit its classed as the greatest shit ever created. I used to actually groan when Beckham scored for England (and i honestly like the guy) as it would then be almost made out that nobody else played. As for Iran, once again a shocking decision fucks up a smaller team. It really is beyond a joke how awful officials have been at this world cup.

Iran showed what a well coached and well organised group of players could achieve.
The success of our own club over the last 7-8 years has shown that competent management, tailoring tactics to suit the available talent can achieve results against what on paper appear to be better players.
The performance of England at this tournemant shows the opposite.

You just know people would be saying Ronaldo can only do it against pub teams had he scored against Iran. Anyway felt sorry for iran, they were better than Argentina.

The thing is that he's been getting stick that he can't drag Argentina through on his own, here he is dragging them through (it doesn't matter who it's against it, he's doing it) and here we are. He's no better than Mama.

Anyone who says he isnt top 1 or 2 (depending on opinion and thats all it is between the two) is a fucktard, i have no doubt he couldnt do it, my point was, up until now he hasnt. Although even you have to be honest, except the 2 goals hes been totally kept out of the games. On a side note, is it just me, or does he look like hes struggling with his movement. Just doesnt look as smooth as normal

Hope they are both fit for what could be an immenese Real/Barca battle again next year

Hope they are both fit for what could be an immenese Real/Barca battle again next year It depends on how long Real/Barca give them off after the World Cup. I think Ronaldo may benefit more because I think Portugal might struggle to get to the second round, so he'll have longer off.

Not only are Portugal shite anyway, Ronaldo has missed a massive opportunity to show what he can do at the world cup. Then again is it worth the risk of ending his career early.
