Looks like Keano has pulled out of ITV's World Cup coverage as well, which is a bit of a shame. It's always good telly when Keano is frothing at the mouth! He could be the one to give those Villa kiddies the kick up the backside they've been needing for a couple of years. Do you think Keane bellowed his favoured, anatomically peculiar, riposte to ITV on his way out: “Stick it up your bollocks.”

It's the classic bad cop/psychopathic cop combo.

You can count in hours how long he will last before there's a bust up.

The good news for Lambert is that Keane's unlikely to knife him in the back. In the front, however...

Shambles of a club.

So he turns down or pulls out of negotiations with Celtic, winning everything, European matches massive club to be second in command at Villa ! no chance at all.

The continuing story of Randy Lerners mission to get all the grumpiest bastards in football to have worked for him at some point.

I agree about the boring bit but he would have Champions League every year , league Champions , Cup winners every year or does he settle for a relegation fight? it does not seem much of a choice. Most people just look at medals and such but fair play if he goes go to Villa but in a mercenary world that is football it would be a brave man to turn down winning for a struggle.

Most people just look at medals and such but fair play if he goes go to Villa but in a mercenary world that is football it would be a brave man to turn down winning for a struggle. firstly..if he took on the celtic job then he couldn't continue with the Ireland job which he can if he's just assistant at Villa. secondly (and most importantly) passing over celtic doesn't take a brave man at all!! yes, they win the league every year, they win domestic trophies regularly and qualify for the Champs league every year.....since taking over in 2010, Lennon has won his domestic league every year and the domestic club twice in his four years and qualified for the Champs league every season, how many other managers with that kind of domestic record do you think would end up managing in the Championship/bottom half of the Prem in their next job with that kind of record? none, they'd all be candidates for the top 4 clubs in europe with that kind of record...there's a reason why Lennon will end up in the lower half of the Prem at best! that reason is simply that managing Celtic and winning with celtic means absolutely nothing to anyone in football at all, i could probably do it as could you! they're a one club league and winning a medal there for a professional manager means about as much as winning a shitty fake japanese ipod copy at the amusement arcades (unless you're a celtic fan). if it's such a prestigious job and golden opportunity that means so much then why exactly did Lennon want to give it up in the first place and end up managing in the Championship/bottom half of the Prem? if you want to make any kind of a name in management in football then Celtic isn't really going to do much to further your career because no-one's impressed by it because they have no competition so them winning is inevitable and doesn't show anything about the manager at all.

Wonder what fans thought about stoke when we signed Gerry Francis as coach and then Andrew Davies similar kind of impact as Roy Keane and Senderos
