Never forget how Lester treated Gordon Banks before he came to us. On that basis alone lets see them back to obscurity.

This is one of the reasons why I despise clubs like Chelsea and Man city (clubs mind, I'm indifferent to the fans) their money spending in particular is the reason for this extreme belief that spending high will get you high. All it does is add more barmy money to the game for over hyped mercenary players.

I rate Pearson very highly indeed. I think he will provide a stable foothold in the Premiership without the need for massive expenditure in the first season but then I expect him to slowly build and gradually mould the squad into a formidable force capable of challenging for a top ten spot sinilar to what Mark Hughes has done for us. It remains to be seen however if he can ever prove himself at the highest level in the premiership even with substantial backing. I certainly wouldn't swap him for Hughes right at this moment even though he has served his apprenticeship in the championship. It's just too easy and simplistic to right them off altogether.

£180m might buy a half decent first team but never the depth of squad necessary to maintain upper mid-table, let alone challenge for 5th or the CL places. I’d also question their ability to do it within FFP.
They’ll also have to hope that Pearson can handle the egos and attitudes of top players (if they can attract them? (£)) Or worse, the egos and attitudes of the likely average players that will jump aboard but still demand big money.
Likewise a 3-year target to achieve this with a rookie Prem manager suggests there’ll also be a new manager by Christmas, if unrealistic expectation (anything other than survival for the 1st year) is expected by the owner.
When City first got their millions it still took a number of seasons and managers before the squad overhaul reached the quality levels they have now and even then, with their poor recent history, only by offering ridiculous wages to attract players of the quality necessary to sustain a realistic challenge– albeit by breaching FFP and taking the throwaway £50m fine to go with it.
Good luck to them – deluded if they believe the rhetoric but they’ve earned their place and if Derby beat QPR (please) the midlands has its strongest representation for years.

As a club, as a city & as individuals, the people of Leicester are the most biased, heads up their arse bunch of cunts in the whole country. Forest fans are in the same bracket, but leicester are so far off the scale for being the most cringeworthy fans that I shake my head every time I read or hear something any of them have said. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see them drop & keep on dropping.
Wankers!!!

They will sack Pearson before Christmas. Absolutely...panic will set in when they have a shit start followed by the obligatory chairmans 'vote of confidence', followed by the P45 on the doormat the day after Next season - for West Brom see Leicester

It never ceases to amaze me how teams joining the Premier League think it will be a doddle. Realistically it is a tough league to join and survival is the first target, then consolidation and then and only then progression. Stoke have done this well. Clubs like Leicester who like us had been out of the top flight for more than ten years have a steep learning curve. It is all too easy to assume having had a wonderful promotion season that life will continue as before. Over the next few weeks reality will set in, money plays a huge part in transfers of course but top players are looking to their own career and joining a newly promoted club is not always seen to be a good career move. It will take a huge amount of money and iron clad escape clauses to attract players who will get them into the top ten and even then players may not wish to join them. Be interesting to see their transfers and how successful they are at achieving their targets

Top 5 will require more than 180m for a side like Leicester. First season will be a scrap but they MUST stick by Pearson all season. There's a fine line between ambition and delusion, you need to keep it in check as we have seen this season with Cardiff, Fulham and West Brom. If they stick with Pearson they'll be fine over the course. Not necessarily - depends how well they spend it. Like most - they may do well. No, they 'must not' stick by Pearson all season. They've got the money to do it, its the way they go around it and it doesn't just require Pearson
