The two people who voted for Walters need to be named and shamed. Pulis & Kemp

This probably is a stupid question, but I shall ask anyway.
Does the winner get actually get some kind of an award, or does the player himself actually get told that they have won this poll?

Whelan in the lead??!! He can buy me a pint if he wins. Brilliant to see Glenn take the lead. A lot of other players got recognition at the club bash last night and well worthy of it, particularly Ryan. The regular "back 5" in the team have done well again this season, but the change in style MH has sought to achieve this season has centred on involving the mid-fielders controlling the game more and building attacks. This change in approach has seen Whelan, N'Zonzi and Adam improve markedly on the previous season's performances. For me Glenn Whelan epitomises the how the team have performed this season and as he has improved and adapted to the new style so has the club's performances improved, culminating in the addition of Odemwingie's speed and Arni finally striking a rich vein of form. The core of the transition in Stoke's performances this season has been Glenn Whelan's midfield play, which has been a revelation.

Whelan for me. I was adamant we needed better but how he's performed for the majority of the season has been a revelation he does the dirty work very well.

the poll results have surprised me, Bego for me has saved us around 15pts at least, he has been magnificent, but I suppose Ryan and Whelan have won us points too. I thing Bego has been absolutely fantastic

No one could be blamed for believing he didn't have it in him but improved so for that alone Whelan deserves it.

I am going to have to go with Ryan. He has excelled this season, adapting to our new style of play with ease (i never thought i would see the day Ryan would be pinging it around, Barca style) and he has had to adapt to playing alongside a functional stand-in in the absence of Huthy. All of this and the fact that he has been as solid at the back as he has ever been for us. Top Class.
However, I also believe that Whelan has been reborn under Sparky. Sparky has found his niche, in front of the back 4 and Glenn has been an absolute rock there, Winning the ball and looking to advance play with the ball at his feet. Also, Bego has been excellent again, Arnie has settled in and looks a threat when he has the ball and Odemwingie has added pace, incision and, most importantly, a goal threat whenever we attack teams.
At the end of the day though, Ryan has been class this season and he is probably the best English centre-half (and possibly one of the best in the entire league) out there.

I'm going for Arnie. You can argue all you like about Glen's dirty work and Shawcross' consistency, but for me, when I think back to this season, I will remember the new number 10 and how he's done more than enough to earn Fuller's shirt.
A truly talented, exciting player who has been a joy to watch.

I've voted for Wilson.
He had no votes and deserves recognition. I would have voted for Ryan but Wilson gets the nod for me. He rarely plays in his natural position which is midfield, he's been a defender for us since we brought him here. He never moans, just gets on with it, yes he makes mistakes but since Huth's injury he's improved week by week and I think he'd been superb the last couple of months.
The fact Walters has more votes upsets me greatly

Difficult one because both Asmir and Ryan have been immense and Arnie is the first player since Ric to get everyone out of their seats. However, to me Whelan has been a rock this season and is as much a key part of our new style of football as he was our last.

While Glenn Whelan has performed fantastically late in the year, when I look at the season as a whole, it's gotta be Ryan, with Bego a close 2nd.
