read thats he's had a couple of transfer requests turned down by TP. i would hate to see him go, he really is a fans favourite and a great player to bring on from off the bench, or to start if AA ir GNW get injured

I think he'll be off in the summer.
He took a massive wage cut to sign for us, and obviously reckoned on being a starter.
He won't want another season on the bench at his age.

Yep - I agree with you there mate
Great asset to the team - cracking goal scoring record for someone who has spent quite a bit of time on the sidelines - Never stops running either!
Hope he stays, but I think he wants more 1st team action than he is getting at the moment

I hope he stays, he's a great player.
Unfortunately for him, Ade is on fire. I don't think dropping Gifton is really an option, cos hes the big target man. Its Gifton + a goalscorer, and I can't see Sarbs getting in front of Ade in his cutrent form
It would be a shame to lose him

I'd be sad to see him go, too. If he does go, I think we really would need to bring someone else in. The problem is bringing in a decent striker who would be happy sitting on the bench alot. I guess the most likely scenario would be to find a young striker aged about 20 who wouldn't be too unhappy to only start the odd game. Do we have any real prospects in the youth team?
I don't see Greenacre as being good enough for the bench next season, especially if we have playoff ambitions (assuming we don't get promoted this season, of course ;D).

As much as id be sad to see him go, TP cant afford to have players spitting thier dummys out, it will only unsettle the dressing room.....

i hope he doesnt go, and i dont think he will to be fair, there isnt many clubs who would want him and can afford him, well i dont hink so anyway, also he loves it here, and i think the chance to play premiership football will be a big thing to loose

This was always going to happen. One of the strikers left out was going to hand in a transfer request. Its a hard thing for Tone to deal with but its part of his job.
"Management is about keeping 11 players happy...the 11 in the reserves. the first team are happy because they are in the first team!" I think Rodney Marsh said that!

Is that the reason why TP is keeping Greenacre on, just in case Asaba does jump ship in the summer?
I can understand his frustration, as when he does get on the pitch it's normally in the last ten minutes with not much time to make an impact.
Then on Sat, we were sitting back on our lead when he came on and all he could do was chase down defenders.
You can't keep everyone happy all the time! It shows his hunger to play though, rather than sit back and take the cash like some players would.

I would imagine TP is looking to offload Greenacre whoever else leaves or stays. He doesn't have what it takes for this level of football and after recent progress TP would possibly see Greenacres inclusion as a step backwards. If Asaba left it would free up a wage to get a new bloke in and I think thats what TP would do.

i think he'll probably go in the summer. a player of his age doesnt want to be warming the bench. i would be sad to see him go

I think FOUR strikers are vital at any club. At the moment we have three strikers who are good enough, and two aren't.
I'd be gutted if Sarbs left, but it is hard to keep everyone happy-especially how Gifton and Ade are playing! They're more of a partnership than any other combination and thats why TP's left Sarbs out of late. I think we still need another forward (not a priority mind).
Sarbs came here for first team football so you cna understand him being frustrated however. I'm a massive Sarbs fan.

you can understand him being frustrated, we took a big pay cut, now he's sitting on the bench.
I think he loves the club, and the fans love him

yeah i think TP along with most stoke fans would rather see sarbs and ade up front rather than ade and gifton, i 4 one would. but GNW contract states, if i want to, and i feel fit to play, then play i will
not in those exact words, but along those lines

He's a good player, but AA and GNW hace formed a very good partnership. And now to that cliche....I'd rather see little Chris leave and free up the wage bill.

the song Da Da Da Da Carl Asaba is (c) aswell.
I was sat in my garden the night before the derby game away this season, just sitting there over a few tins and me and a mate just decided to make up a song about Asaba and we came up with that.
Ever since that game we have always sung it in block 19 and we hope to get it going all around the ground before the end of the season.
So Come On Lads and Lasses
Da Da Da Da Carl Asaba
