Over the years a lot of people have taken the piss out of block 19..'full of chavs'..'burberry/stone island tossers' etc etc etc
But NEVER forget that in the old days..when blocks 24, 25, 26 & 27 were empty and there was more atmosphere in a cemetery. .that the only part of the ground with any singing was block 19.
Say what you like about the people who sit there (and I sit in block 30) but they are the heart of Stoke City..the most passionate and loyal Stokies
Agreed?

It seems all the singing comes from the south stand these days. Trust me, I stand at the back of block 30 and you don't hear a great lot coming from the south stand. Most starts in 19 or the boothen/seddon corner.

I used to sit in block 23, but now im sit in Q Railings upper !!
Ok, not so much atmosphere there, and yes more expensive but on the + side
i dont have to hkeep getting up 10 mins into the game, letting guys in who fancied an extra drink i dont have to keep getting up, when they have to keep going out for a piss i dont have to keep getting up 10 mins before half time when they want to get to the bar 1st i dont have to keep getting up when they come back 10 mins into the 2nd half
lost count of how much goalmouth action and goals ive missed thro this
ok, i may well be a Victor Meldrew, but at least now i get to see the WHOLE 90mins

I sit in block 11 and am more than happy to sit down all game and just give a pleasant applaud now and again. Can't be bothered stand up all game singing.
As far as atmosphere goes I think the South stand are the most consistent now. They have good banter with the away fans aswell. The away fans normally give an ironic cheer when they hear the boothen end. (Normally a rendition of oh when the reds) Do not realy hear the boothen up that side of the ground.

I think that is half the problem. The design if the ground doesn't contain the sound.

used to love sitting in B23.
Now, in the Family Stand, I know we are closer, but even with only 1500 in there the South Stand is heard far more often and also comes up with some witty stuff.

I can only get to one game a month at home so I try and remember to get seats in the middle of the row to avoid having people arriving and departing. It means having to wait a long time to leave at the end of the game.

Don't get how loud means you're more passionate or loyal. loud certainly doesnt mean youre more loyal, ask yourself this though, which support do you think the players prefer, loud and proud singing and cheering from "supporters" or polite applause from the" spectators" ?

Most starts in 19 or the boothen/seddon corner. I sit in the South Stand mate and trust me I never hear a single song from the rest of the ground (Block 19 included) except for the big staged anthems "Delilah" and "Oh When The Reds" so maybe none of us can sing so loud it reaches the other end of the ground!

The trouble is that you shouldn't expect a reasonable answer to that because you've tried to make out that quiet people are only spectators while loud people are supporters, which frankly, is bollocks. My dad supported the club through thick and thin for 70 years or more until he died in his 80s. He probably never sung at a match ever. If you're prepared to acknowledge that he was every bit as passionate and loyal as anyone who sings then I'll give you an honest answer to your question. Either way you'll have to wait cos I'm cutting out now.
