What the hell has happened to him at Spurs? Is he injured again or just out of favour?
He seems to play way better for England than he does for Spurs.
Would love to see him at Stoke. Hes a winger but very direct and with a great strike on him.
What would he cost? 6m to 8m?

Suffered from the dreaded hamstring injuries so many quick players do.

Think he had a 3-4 month purple patch where everything just went for him. They almost sold him for about £1.5 Million last summer to QPR let's not forget.
In the long run, I don't think he'll perform consistently enough to play for the top teams. I don't know if I'd be tempted to go for him or not. The purple patch aside, he's not done a lot at all.
I'd have had him as a shoe-in for the England World Cup squad before Christmas but he's done fuck all since and, as such, I can't see him going given the attacking options we have.

He's not as good as we probably thought he was at one time. Saying that, he's probably suffered from Sherwood's occasionally mad selection policy.

One of the most over rated players in the game as it is, very poor decision making and incredibly selfish. He can hit a ball but he will never choose to pass it, worth having as a super sub because he might end up being that bit of magic we need but personally there are a whole heap of players I'd see start over him for England...

Saying that, he's probably suffered from Sherwood's occasionally mad selection policy. so far in the Prem this year 25 games 56 shots 1 goal 0 assists i think it's simply a case of him playing well in the internationals making him look better than he really is to be honest. hard to tell when he's not getting a look in at Spurs but i suppose the fact that they're hardly pulling up trees and Lennon seems to be the preferred option tells it's own story

But every time I see him play he looks for the goal before he looks for a man not a quality I'm wild about

He's English and so I hope he comes good and proves me wrong, but personally I don't think he is on the level of Chamberlain or Sterling who are both younger and have more well rounded games and for me would start over Townsend, hell even Redmond might!

I'd second that Redmond call up, he's shone in what has been a awful Norwich team this year. I'd jump at the chance to sign him, should Norwich go down.

Is he another that plays on the left but is right footed? I also quite like Snodgrass I must admit, but he's a wide midfielder as opposed to a winger in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind Townsend at Stoke for the rite price. I'd love to see McManaman from Wigan at Stoke aswell! !

Genuine question, but has Redmond really shone for Norwich this season? I've seen a couple of games where he has really stood out,but I must admit I haven't really heard a great deal about him for a lot of the season? I know I don't watch Norwich that often, bar highlights shows but surely if he had shone as much as people say then I'd be hearing about him more often? I wouldn't be surprised at all if Redmond is on the same list as the likes of Lennon,Townsend and co in a season or so's time.

I like Townsend.
He might not be a world beater but anyone who thinks he isn't a significant upgrade for us, well...words fail me. I think we should go for him in the summer.

He's an incredibly poor mans Arjen Robben That's ok then, we're an incredibly poor Bayern Munich thats what I thought when I read the comment. Should we hold out for Arjen? The guy has pace, good cross and good shot, and still young. As he is out of favour maybe we can get him for a reasonable fee. Look at Assaidi - just because he cant get a game at his present club doesnt make him shit overnight. He just doesnt seem to fit in at Spurs, so Im sure he will be pushing for a move (especially if he misses out on the World Cup now).

Townsend is known as Andross to lots of spurs fans. While he can look impressive in little clips on Match of the Day if you watch him regularly he is so frustrating. The guy is under the impression he is another Gareth Bale and will shoot time and time again without passing. He has attributes like his pace and power but he does not have a football brain.
I can see Spurs shipping him out in the summer while his stock is still high.

He's a decent enough player but I'd rather take Trouserdog to the world cup than him.
