What a terrible racket. I love Neil and Joni too... individually. Put the feckers together and what a horrible stew.... A bird and a dulcimer for me, any time.... Why stick her out th'way in the Canyon?

I listen to a lot of different music but early 70s folk rock if that's what you want to call it is easily some of the best.
Joni Mitchell Early eagles James Taylor CSNY Carole king Etc etc
Brilliant

And tonight my favourite Neil is... It'll have changed by the weekend... I love the bleakness and crude production of On The Beach, not quite as paired down as Tonights The Night but not far from it. I like side 2 best and the epic Ambulance Blues.

Fickle of me but I've moved on... 'Comes a Time' is currently rocking me shack.. perhaps a tad sentimental... Driven by this beaut...
Until tomorrow.

First heard "Comes a Time" while hitch-hiking in Germany, the guy who picked us up had it on his car stereo, couldn't believe it was ol'Neil, how cool does he look in that hat, I wanted to look like that!

My first proper encounter with Neil was during the early 1980's, I picked up a cheap cassette of Neil Young cover songs by bands I was into at the time {the details of wich elude me now without Googling it}, with a Pixies cover of 'Winterlong' on it, amongst other fairly obscure stuff... but I loved every song.. Then Saint Etienne did a cover of 'Only Love Can Break...' so I did some digging in secondhand shops and such, and tracked down most of his albums on vinyl. I waiver on which I like best depending on me mood.. even go for a spot of 'Trans-former Man' {sic} now and again... There's a Neil tune to suit every mood... love him... But 'Comes a Time' is reminiscent of a particular purple patch in my times, strength in depth.. Fantastic album.

My brother had "After The Gold Rush" and until then I had only known Top Of The Pops, and I just thought, wow, I didn't know music could be this good.

I had After the Goldrush and On the Beach. Was jammy enough see him at Glastonbury few years back. (Got in free with a stall). Took time off go and see his set - got right to withon 10 feet of the front! Rock solid band with him, nailed every song and didn't waste any time talking. Was made up!
