George Best at the Victoria Ground. Saw him two or three times, over a couple of seasons. I don't know the exact games, I was 12 at the time but it left a lasting memory, never seen anyone since ride a tackle like he did. Closest I have seen to that is Ronaldino at the Nou Camp against Atletico Bilbao, leaving the ground they were replaying the some of his moves during the game on a big screen in the foyer. The crowd just stopped on masse to watch, sheer magic.

George Best in his pomp in the 70's, can safely say I have never seen a better player live. For Stoke it has to be Gordon Banks, the man was a genius between the sticks and a massive influence on the team, outfield player Alan Hudson all day every day but I loved Jimmy Greenhoff who had class dripping from every muscle. Modern day, Ryan Shawcross is turning into a very very good player.

Gareth Bale last year at the Brit. Really? thought he was relatively anonymous that game! compared to what I'd expected to see My dad's a United fan and we once got box tickets to see them play, when they still had Ronaldo! I was relatively young and It was probably my first football game but he has to be the best player I have ever seen live

For Stoke - Banksy some wonderful saves. Many as good as his "Mexico save".
Against Stoke - over 90 minutes Joe Baker for Forest at County ground - he ran the match for them carrying an awful lot of weight but brilliant. Banks was also brilliant that day and the result on a pretty dreadful pitch was 3 - 3.
Also saw Pele score brilliantly at the Vic. Ball came to him stood at the edge of the goal area, he flipped it over his head and ran round the goal-keeper to tap it in the net. It would not have happened in a normal match, he would have been "stopped", but being an exhibition match there was no rough stuff. Nevertheless the execution was brilliant ball control.
Saw Best a few times but never saw a brilliant performance live, only on the tele. He must have been boozing too much the night before the matches I saw him play!

Best player for Stoke - probably Huddy amongst the outfield players - although Banks was special. Best player against Stoke on a regular basis - probably George Best - he had the skill of Ronaldo without the cheating. Pity it all turned to rat shit in his late 20s.

Des Walker for England. Though I might be over-estimating him as it was around the Graham Taylor era when a lot of the England team were complete rubbish.
