Hughes said he wanted Assaidi and Walters on the bench so it left no room for him. Don't think we'll be signing him,in fact I'd put money on it not happening. Only a quid mind

Does seem a little strange he wasn't on the bench mate although now Walters and Adam are back i suppose places are limited? Got to be classed as a waste of a loan though surely with the amount of minutes spent on the pitch. Also Assaidi forgot about him cheers Rob

Yeah mate especially as Walters was on the bench also Assaidi offered something different but it didn't include missing a one on one on the 90h minute ( smiley )

I think we can, for once, be completely confident in saying there's zero chance of him signing.
He seems to have made zero impression on Hughes, who actively left him off a 7-man bench.
I have no idea if he's a wonderkid, crock or overhyped youngster at this point. From his reputation at Man City, you can only presume he will have a decentish career somewhere - but his failure to make any impact here is astonishing.

Was he actually at the game on Saturday? I noticed Shea and Shotton warming up beforehand but not him.

It's a shame really because he hasn't really been given the chance make an impact here, but that said we don't know what goes on behind the scenes and I think what he come out with not so long ago about not being given a chance to start should of been kept private instead of out in the open. Think he would of gotten a chance if he kept his mouth shut.

The whole thing has been strange regarding the Guidetti Loan. He had a decent career before injury and was obviously regarded well at Man City. I thought his loan to us was a way of allowing him game time to improve his fitness and get him sharp again. It has been impossible to judge where he is at because he has had so little chance to play. He seemed so keen to get on the pitch and score goals. I do feel bad for him, whatever the cause, his loan here certainly hasn't been what he would of hoped for.
I cannot see him wanting to sign for us after being left out so much, even if we did want him, which is unlikely.

I'm guessing the injury and illness has taken a much bigger toll on his body than people realised. He certainly doesn't look up to Prem standard at the moment

Surely we would need to see more of him before making that call?

He's not really looked promising in his cameos and there must be a reason why Hughes hasn't seen fit to use him after going to a fair amount of trouble to get him in?

mainly from a) his size and b) his total inability to control a football
I appreciate he hasn't had a lot of game time but when he has been on the pitch he has looked over weight, slow and with the touch of a rapist

I don't think we have seen nearly enough of him to be drawing those conclusions.

arrived over weight, shot his mouth off, my guess is he'll be shown the door. Stoke need committed, dedicated professionals not delusional ones, who've had success too early and it's gone to their head.

Fair do's, I just think there is a bit too much of him to see I hope I am wrong and he stays and scores 20 goals a season...just can't see it mesen He won't be the first player in a Stoke shirt that I have misjudged...I sure as hell didn't fancy Gerry Taggart at Stoke but he certainly proved me wrong

I do see where you are coming from with this lad, but personally I think he has something to offer.
Either way, his loan spell here hasn't worked out and I can't see him staying on.

Disagree with you. I don't think we have seen nearly enough of him to be drawing those conclusions. And no doubt the reason we ain't seen enough of him would simply be because he ain't shown enough in training. Really? You don't think the form of others in the team at the moment has anything to do with it? Hughes himself has said Guidetti has done well in training. I don't think it is as simple as him not showing enough in training.

I think if he was pulling up any trees we'd have seen a lot more of him from the bench than we have - Hughes clearly doesn't massively trust him to do whatever job he wants doing.

I sense conspiracy here - make him look shit - dont play him - put an arm round him and explain - wait three months - sign him in the summer for buttons -
suddenly - he's electric
plenty of citeh fans told me this guy was actually the best finisher at their club -both feet and head
and you dont become shit overnight

Does to me - Hughesy might be playing a patient 'long' game on this one - if he is shit he goes back - we dont see him again
I sense we will sign him in the summer for a 'realistic price'
and then ----- BOOOM !
