He should keep them wrapped up and give them him back for Xmas. He will soon get the message.

Both of my Grandads are Vale fans, yet both my Dad and Uncle managed to break away, purely out of rebellion I assume. Thank god they did or else I'd be sat down Burslem, surrounded by mutants.

Girlfriends brother is a 'plastic' Vale fan, despite being a season ticket holder. I just mock him every time he comes in from a match, usually asking if anyone else has turned up today.

We don't have to "cope" with Vale fans. The rightful order has been restored for over a decade now.

Euthanasia works wonders.

There's not much about Vale fans to get excited about, fair play to them for supporting their local and very unfashionable team. I have a nephew from Blackpool who supports the Shit and a brother-in-law from Bristol who supports Arsenal, they're the ones that I have difficulty coping with. The Arsenal fan in particular has had to be reminded more than once that a) I don't have a sense of humour when it comes to gloryhunters, b) I absolutely fucking hate Arsenal in a way that he can't possibly comprehend and c) that I am bigger than him.

What's quite shocking to me personally is that, as a lad, I used to 'follow' Vale. Let me be clear though - I have never, ever supported them - I just wanted to see them do OK. It was when the teenage years came and I fell out of a tree, pissing about with my mates down Foley Park/Field, that I must of hit my head and thankfully (praise the lord etc), I no longer had these shocking feelings. As for the thread, buying someone Port Vale merchandise (unless it's loo roll or a foot mat) as a gift is akin to posting dog shit through someone's letterbox, so on that basis I'd say bleach and disinfect everything it has touched.

I'm in a dilemma.
I'm red and white through and my lad has been coming with me and supports Stoke.
Trouble is, just my luck, his mates are all Liverpool fans and are always nagging him to buy a Liverpool kit.
He will remain a Stokie but wants to be one of the crowd. I just can't bear seeing him in another teams strip.
What do I do? If I say no he'll resent me if I say yes he'll possibly become a red.
nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
