Can't see TP wanting to commute from Sandbanks.
I think this is a non-starter.

This would be an absolutely glorious turn of events for the fan reaction, but I'd hate for it to happen. They don't deserve the best Pulis can offer.

Hmmmm they probably think they deserve to appoint Jurgen Klopp though... And that's why it will piss them off. Tbf, if I was a 'Castle fan, I'd be pretty gutted if TP was being linked with the job. They're better than him.

Can you honestly imagine TP getting on with Mike Ashley? I reckon he's happy at Palace, and they won't want him to go. He's been quoted as being happy to be working closer to home and he enjoys London. Newcastle is a graveyard for every manager who has gone there since Keegan's first stint; TP isn't stupid or greedy enough to be tempted.

The natives chased Big Sam out of town for his route 1 stuff so I can't imagine TP would be greeted on the Toon with a ticker-tape reception.

Not a chance Pulis would turn down Newcastle if he was offered the job.

Pretty concerning really when you consider the job he's doing at Palace and now getting linked with an even bigger club than the one he left.
Concerning because obviously TP didn't lose his enthusiasm for management which begs the question just why he's no longer our manager.
I hope the Coates family back Hughes but I have my doubts.

Tone setting the wheels in motion to get the spending he wants at palace. You could see all this blowing up in the summer like it did in january, then they gave in to him.
Should be fun watching it all unfold in the summer.

Did that exact journey once - when I lived in Sandbanks and had a meeting in Newcastle (at Sage). 3.5 hours there. 8 hours back. But the return journey did include the best part of 5 hour in the bar at Newcastle airport . I'm sure Tone would take it. I'm also sure that they wouldn't take it in Newcastle.

Thing is Pulis would be doing it by private jet - couple of hours each way, once or twice a week.
Tone would definitely take the job and you're right it would go down like a lead balloon on the Tyne but when has Ashely ever given a toss what the Toon faithful think?

I can't think of a more disastrous fit. Is it worth chasing after one big job (I suppose a once in a lifetime chance) when you'll almost certainly be out of work after six months?

Based on my experience Paul: an hour to the airport (from Sandbanks). Then an hour flight plus an hour to get to the training ground/stadium. It was also one flight a day to Newcastle from Soton. Looking at www.privatefly.com/private-flights/how-much-does-a-private-flight-cost.html, it would be about £10k/week for a return flight on a private jet to Newcastle. He'd have to get that into any contract I guess.
