What a great ground! Brilliant concourse with loads of space, toilets very easy to get into and out of (something you cant do at the brit!) And superb catering facilities. What a change from ninian park!! No wonder its been voted top away stadium. Our mental at half time was made even better by the low key approach from old bill and stewards. Thanks all xx

Not been today, but I've been a lot of places and Ninian Park is my favourite away ground by a mile. Give me an old shithole with terracing and a real edge over any new-build in the world. edit: was*

It was strange to see houses built on Ninian Park

Agree about the concourse and the bar queuing system was simple and prevented all out mayhem like we get down Stoke The stand was nice and spacious too.
Just a shame it look like it's made from Lego from the outside.

Very impressed with the stadium, the quality and courtesy of the stewarding and the organisation. We were driving through Monmouth an hour after the full time whistle, which compared to Southampton, in which we were still stuck in traffic at ten past six was a result. Sadly though, it's another stadium which pisses all over the Britannia. We really did make a complete balls up of it didn't we?

I know folk talk about filling in the corners, but I think there are plenty of other things that could be done first. How about extending the concourse at the Boothen End? If the catering outlets were better organised there could be an increase in revenue from them.

I was really impressed with it, once they've finished that building work apparently the capacity will be 44000. Shows just how wrong we got it with The Brit

Just the toilets at the brit make you realise what a poor job we did! The queing system today at the food and drink counters was superb.

Thought it was very nice. Spacious and clean, quick service from staff wearing Stoke tops, unobtrusive stewards who were generally friendly and helpful. A good modern stadium.

We are hosting the European Super Cup in August (Champions league winners against Europa Winners) The first part of the new building will take capacity up to 33,000...This is only phase 1 and there will be more to come although if we go down though I'm not sure if it will go any further past the current extension

A plastic seat and a wide concourse are very low down list of priortities for a good away day. Must admit I have started monitoring the early round FA CUP and League Cup draws just in the hope we might draw a club with a proper ground and terracing.

Good stadium looks like they are building a extra tier too on the stand on our right, so they can have more empty seats in the Championship next season

We're still in it If we do go down though, it won't be the end of the world. There's more to a club than one season

There's more to a club than one season The colour of the shirts? As I mentioned on staffords thread, they were told on radio 5 the other night, they have been voted the best away day experience of the season, and that was with enough points with 2 games to left still

Anyone who prefers Ninian Park to this Stadium must be insane. I've been to NP twice and it really was an awful place to visit. Walking up and back to Ninian Park embankment 'station' wasn't particularly enjoyable either.
Full.marks to Cardiff this Stadium and all the organisation/catering facilities were bob on

Full.marks to Cardiff this Stadium and all the organisation/catering facilities were bob on It is a different universe to the Ninian Park experience. On our last visit there, which was the opening game of the promotion season, getting in and out of the ground surrounded by maurauding pissed ups looking to fight anyone that looked at them with police running around trying to keep rival fans apart is something that belongs in the dark ages. Yesterday there was a really relaxed atmosphere. Drinking in Cardiff Bay before the game, walking back to the City Centre after and not a hint of trouble in the air. Police and Stewards polite and relaxed throughout. There are some things about football that have turned for the worse, like the fact we can never hope to win the league like we did in the 70's but give me today's away days over those of the past any day. There was atmosphere but without the undercurrent of mindless vandalism and violence, what's not to like? BM

Totally agree with comments about the Stewards and catering staff. I arrived at the ground fairly early and was greeted by a Steward who took time in pointing out location of toilets, catering and the bar I have had a far worse welcome when staying in hotels. Thought the DVD showing highlights of our time in the Prem was a nice touch.

Agree with all the comments made regarding yesterdays trip to Cardiff, was a big surprise. The stewards patrolling the gangways in the stands were very low key with no petty move up or sit down requests being made. At half time I saw most of them having friendly chit chat with Stoke fans too, Must of easily been 10 or so spread around talking to Stokies about various things. Police monitoring the services where the coaches were held up were very low key and helpful too.. All in all its only not getting the 3pts that would have made this the perfect away day..

Looks like a championship ground. Cannot believe it holds as many as it does.
Decent concourse though

Living in the USA this was a rare away trip for me but a very enjoyable one and as others have said what a contrast to the ninian park experience. Decent ground, excellent stewards one actually wished me a safe journey home!Stayed the night in Cardiff Bay decent found an excellent fish restaurant and lots of busy bars.It helped that the sun shone. Shame it won't be on my away day trips for next season

agree with all of the above. My first visit to Cardiff for football (been there many times for rugby and my lad was at Uni there too). Had been led to expect a bit of bother but bother could not have been further from the feeling I got. Nice stadium, some lovely touches like catering staff wearing Stoke T shirts, stewards and coppers very friendly and accommodating. Great atmosphere, and even a chilled walk back to the station afterwards too. 9/10 for the experience :-)

When i went 3 years ago for the Cup replay i didn't think it was that impressive but i've changed my mind after yesterday because this time instead of being bused straight in and out of the ground we got to to see alot of the other areas outside the ground which we're impressive imo. Also although it was strange to see houses built on Ninian Park i thought they'd done it well and had a plaque/sign to identify the clubs previous ground. Having also spent 2 nights in Cardiff i must say how impressed i was with the locals and Cardiff itself which was a big surprise for me after previous visits.Cardiff Bay last night was buzzing and a must visit for anyone on future trips imo.Great weekend and like people have said it was like the old days in terms of atmosphere and support in the ground.
