Serious question, with the point today we've picked up a pitiful 11pts away from home (so far). I know we've never been the greatest away from home but the point today meant we just beat our lowest points total away from home (10pts in 08/09). Just to put it in to some context:
2008/09 - 10pts (2 wins + 4 draws) 2009/10 - 20pts (4 wins + 8 draws) 2010/11 - 12pts (3 wins + 3 draws) 2011/12 - 16pts (4 wins + 4 draws) 2012/13 - 14pts (2 wins + 8 draws) 2013/14 - 11pts (2 wins + 5 draws)
I know its entirely plausible that we could beat West Brom and it'll look slightly better, but failing anything else 11/12pts is still not great. When you consider that against the current bottom 3 we've picked up a point away against, its really starting to concern me. We have a tremendous record at home and teams are going to start coming to the Brit looking to keep it tight and picking up a point. We really need to sort out our away form to make up for (potentially) a lower point tally at home.

How do most other teams in the league do away from home? ( excluding the big boys )

Soft underbelly. More steel at the back needed. More pace up front to stop the opposition pushing us so deep without fear of the counter attack. Mentality too.

It's a difficult one, because under TP it was fairly obvious what was wrong. Looking for the point, keeping it solid, defending draws etc, but from the five or six away games I've seen so far this season (ie, attended rather than TV or streams), we are very different. We're looking to attack and it certainly seems like we've scored more (I can't be arsed actually checking that, but ultimately we still struggle to bring home the bacon.
Maybe if Huth had been fit all season, or if we'd have had Odemwingie from the start, we'd have managed to get it sorted. By and large I'm much happier with the away games experience than for the last couple of seasons, but we can always improve in all areas.
When we get a striker in the summer we'll be better next year.

How do most other teams in the league do away from home? ( excluding the big boys ) Now only Cardiff and Norwich have worse records (both 10pts so far). When you consider Southampton and Newcastle both have 22 pts away from home while Palace have 17 and West Ham have 16

We're improving away from home IMO. Since the Southampton draw we've competed a lot better on the whole.

Can't play Peter Crouch up front away from home. Zero pace and movement.

I think we've been alright this season away from home.
We suffered from missing glaring chances early on in the season which have cost us, but recently I think we've been doing pretty well. Confident that next season we'll see a much better return on our travels.

I agree the performances have been better but the thing that really matters, the points are not. We need to start turning good performances into points, there's no point playing well but still losing or drawing.

Fair enough we've only beaten Villa but a point away from home is almost never a bad result and we've taken some very useful ones.

Still seem to have the mentality of being good at home and if we win most of those games we will stay up, then get the odd result away reinforces the points. That has come close to biting us on the arse at times. Its nice to see us going for it more this season ( Chelse excepted)away.

I think we've been alright this season away from home. Only 11 points from 18 away games says very different.

I think we have been unlucky in some of the games. Fortunate to get a point vs. Swansea but at the same time, Newcastle and Sunderland we were both very unfortunate not to come away with something and the same today. Fulham we should have beaten, whilst the game against Manchester United was frustrating also.

We don't get enough people forward really, and when we do the crosses or balls into the box are crap. Assaidi I think would be a good player for us takes people on and accepts responsibility for shooting, doesn't keep laying it off like most of them.

I honestly think that with a decent striker up front we will improve away from home, the times we broke away second half today and there was nobody available. Although I think crouch does OK he just doesn't get up there quick enough! Even Glenda had to turn back at one point second half because crouch was too deep.
