Seems a lifetime ago since we beat them in the playoff final. Since then we've got stronger and stronger but they've had some tough near-misses and a relegation to the 4th tier thrown into the mix. It can't be understated what an achievement it is to come back stronger after the devastation of last season, so congratulations!

Good luck for next season. Is this a first for them in that division?

Good on them, they are only 20mins from me, i remember going to the final with my sister down the M4,and the stick we got from Brentford fans on the the way was splendid, we did have stoke scarfs out of the windows though Well Done Brentford. Good luck for next season. Is this a first for them in that division? No, they were last in the 2nd tier in 92/93, they went down the season we went up. In the past they were a top-flight club and a much bigger club than they are now averaging over 15k from 1934-1954 minus the war years, and averaging closer to 25k for a few of them.

They pipped us to promotion from the third division in 1992.

Gooaarrn You Bs! My "other" team finally makes it out. Been a much harder struggle than we had - both on and off the pitch - but brilliant to see them finally make the Championship. It would be hilarious (in a very nice way) if they followed us another level higher

Well done Brentford. London's finest. Better than Chelsea anyway!

Even I am breaking my no posting rule for this one. I go to see Brentford once a year (whether I like it or not) with a Brentford supporting mate at work. This year they were in the middle of a good winning streak (in February) and were playing some really nice stuff. Not afraid of knocking the ball around and used the pace of their players really well. Lowly Bristol City were the opposition. Even though Bristol took an early lead Brentford carried on playing football their way and ran out comfortable 4-1 winners. Bristol were reduced to trying to kick lumps out of Brentford in the 2nd half. If they can keep that quality going they should do well in the Championship. Congrats to the Bees.

I was looking at that a few days ago. The new stadium actually looks really great and not at all identi-kit. It's a shame that it's taken 20+ years of error in new stadium design for designers to start realising the inportance of originality and character when planning new football stadiums, and as much as I love The Brit it's an even greater shame that our ground is one of those errors.

Not much room for coach and car parking by the looks of it though
