As a Season Ticket holder who attend games with a variety of other Season Ticket holders we have felt for a while that the ground could have minor changes that would help improve the matchday experience. A key part of this concerns the look of the stadium. If you go to Anfield, and inside the stadium, you notice straight away that Liverpool FC have a lot of flags, banners, logo's attached to the stadium (inside & outside) making it look far more intimidating. It's fair to say that ours looks fairly plain and boring and small changes like this will have a positive affect on SCFC fans. It wouldn't be expensive to do and would make the stadium look a lot more homely. It badly needs a clean inside and the introduction of more flags, banners etc would cover up such isses.
Surely others have thought the same?

Got no problem with flags or banners as long as they're the fans, and not made by the club, a la Citeh or Chelsea - highly embarrassing.

Yet we have a fantastic home record over the last few years? No shitty banners or flags will improve that.

You want intimidating but homely? Forget filling in the corners put machine gunner positions on every corner and lots of barbed wire.

The large flag waving at Chelsea and Arsenal, and all the corporate slogans thought up in meetings with marketing managers just makes me want to puke. Passion comes from the fans and history. It can't just be added on by some marketing execs.

For as good as Liverpool's atmosphere is against the likes of Man United , Chelsea etc it's equally as shit against the likes of us and a fflag or two doesn't change it. Don't believe the hype.

You mean like Bolton Wanderers' stadium? Big stadium, all the corners filled in and a smart ground. They're finding life hard in the Championship. Makes absolutely no difference to the football or how "intimidating" a place is to go. Be nice to fill in the corners, of course but it won't make a spot of difference in any other way other than a bigger capacity stadium in my opinion.

We want less corporate bullshit in football not more .

If anything, I think the moodier and bland the ground, the more intimidating. Home made banners by the fans are good but my preference would be loads of concrete, poor facilities in the away concourse and away dressing room and as much bad weather as possible! Couple that with the Brit in full voice and you can't go wrong. You want the opposing fans and players to be counting down the minutes until they can escape from the place. Think of Napoli's Stadio San Paolo and their fans, superb (besides the violence of course!).

Miserable gits!! 'Intimation' is perhaps the wrong word. It's our home, it should resemble that not a cheap, crap looking ground with a pic of a player that left 3yrs ago on the outside!! Just because we've done well doesn't mean improvements can't be made. Young kids love to look at stuff like that, it would improve it.

How about a giant inflatable Mark Hughes that could crowd surf across the terraces during the game.

Let's put netting up around the away fans and turn it into an enclosure, with just a gap at the top and a catapult on top of the offices so we can fling in piles of human excrement every time they get too rowdy.

One thing I would look into is the natural acoustics of the ground. Even if they dont want to go for total filling of the corners, surely there could be some kind of shroud put there to keep the wind out and the noise in.
Most of the time you can hardly hear what is being sung at the other end of the stadium. You just see the away fans moving their arms around in virtual silence.
Make some adjustments so the songs can be heard everywhere and suddenly you can have much more intimidation of the away supporters from every angle.
Never understood the supporters that like the wind and cold at the ground. Ive never gone to a concert and thought - wow this is too loud I wish they would open up the stadium and let some cold air in!

What we need is a bloody decent pa system and then we need to pipe rain in blood by slayer through it. The drums at the start with the screeching guitar would shit up any opposition.
No flags no banners no corners just wind rain and slayer.

No one likes coming to the Brit.
There msut be a reason for that.
I think opposition fans and players find it an intimidating place already.
With regard to the "virtual silence" of away fans; we should try to make that even more extreme, maybe by removing the section of roof over their heads.
I do like the bears idea.

It's disappointing there is no natural place for banners - on a balcony overhang for example.
We've had some great banners appear away and they are never seen again - the ace "1863" in gothic font for example.
I wonder wether the stadium design explains their absence.
On a slightly different subject why can't we have the Stoke City Football Club sign inside the stadium in lights rather than painted on a bit of plywood? We're a 100 million + business now not Port Vale (FFS).

The first thing the club should be doing (and it should have been done years ago) is switching the opposition and home fans in the South Stand. I just can't believe they haven't done it already, Delap himself said it on Radio Stoke not long ago, literally handing the opposition an advantage before KO.
