Even if they did know the team, does it really give them that much of an advantage? You could probably guess and get within 1-2 players of an opponent's lineup on any given week anyway.

Everybody knows you only have to go on the messageboards and see what the 'Herberts' are writing to find out the team selection and tactics.

If I was from Cardiff I'd be more concerned as to who leaked it, along with the manager for naming it too early.
As said above, you could probably guess most of the line up, Cardiff are desperate and clutching at straws.

Desperation.
In rugby they name their sides days before. Unless Cardiff were planning on playing Vincent Tan then there was hardly going to be any bastarding surprises.

It's the fact that Cardiff say Moody was actively seeking the team and Pulis was aware of it that could see them in mither. Cardiff say they have proof.
And we all know how Tony thinks that it's a major advantage for the oppo to know the team and tactics in advance - herberts were blamed on this messageboard for one particular defeat.

If Sunderland can field players that are ineligible and get away with it, the FA are most unlikely to order a replay!

Ole apparently knew in advance that his planned team had been leaked to Palace. He could easily have thrown TP's plans into confusion by making a couple of tactical changes. This is a problem of Cardiff's making isn't it.

It's not really about whether it would have made a difference to the result
This will hinge on evidence of the steps Palace have allegedly taken in acquiring this info.
That could land them in hot water.
If Palace have broken any rules then Cardiff are right to demand the game void.

Tan vs Pulis! Glad I don't live in Cardiff, they're going to wreck the place. There'll be potholes everywhere, houses all smashed up...like one of those old puppet dinosaur Clash of the Titans style movies.

If I was Cardiff, I'd be more worried
a) about sacking a manager who had a decent chance of keeping them in the Premier League b) about having a club that will be in the Championship in a few weeks c) about swapping certain footballers, literally signing their own death warrant at the same time

The Palace team that played Cardiff were unchanged from their last game anyway.

Here we go again = Cardiff moaning about bad things happening to them = I can remember when it was general knowledge when in the championship they used to send somebody round to their opponents Hotel on the Friday nights and set off the Fire Alarm at about one o'clock so that the opposing team players did not get back to sleep so being tired for the match.
They even did to Stoke on the night of a very important match to decide the play-offs = can't remember when it was but I am sure somebody will remember it
I can only hope that bad things happen to them on their travels!!!!

Oh dear. Just out of interest, what is the link between Palace, Cardiff and Moody? Moody was part of Malky Mackay's team at Cardiff. He was booted out at the same time and he went to Palace. As far as the story goes, it seems to be changing. Originally, I heard that, while he did get a Cardiff team-sheet, it was not an accurate one, so it is hard to see how Palace had any more information than they could have guessed at.

Cardiff allege Palace boss Tony Pulis knew sporting director Iain Moody was trying to obtain Cardiff's starting line-up before the game.
Pulis declined to comment.
Something has gone on but it's a storm in a tea cup.

The only person to have done anything wrong is the Cardiff City employee who told Palace the team. It is nothing to do with the authorities and it's up to Cardiff to deal with the matter internally.

The Palace team that played Cardiff were unchanged from their last game anyway. The players may not have changed but you are forgetting the tactical genius of TP in finely tuning how CP would play in response to advance knowledge of how Cardiff would line up. Now is it 9 men or 10 men behind the ball. Do we defend 25 yards from goal or on the penalty box. Do we hoof it down the centre or through the channels. You can just picture the hours of anguished deliberation as they figure out the most appropriate tactics to win the game. Or maybe not...

Let me guess the Cardiff team for this weekend and share it with Hughes
A good keeper (Is he called Marshall or somefin?)
A shit defence including the overrated Caulker Some nobodies in midfield, plus Jordan Mutch who's playing quite well. Zaha coming on after 56 minutes and achieving nothing Frazier Campbell in attack. Jones will come on after 70 minutes when they are already losing 4 nil, and proceed to mope about
Have I about covered it? Unless they are un-covering their new signing Ronaldo at the weekend I dont think theres many players to worry about
