I'm running a Laptop with the Vista O.S. When I attach either my external hard drives and/or usb sticks an empty folder keeps appearing on them. It's always named Pink Floyd and always shows as empty. If I remove it, it reappears about a minute later. I'm running 2 virus checkers and internet security programmes and both report no infections or problems. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this? It's doing my head in!
Thanks in advance.

check there is nothing in startup that's all programs menu. Make sure there are no hidden files or folders in there. Make Sure the folder is not protected from deletion. Stop listening to crap music =) Have you tried your stick in another pc? if yes and it does not make the folder then it is on your laptop not the drives. I use AGV free it will let you run a trial full version for 30 days free.avg.com/gb-en/free-antivirus-download here to download , I would not run two anti virus programs together. If all else fails reinstall

Thanks in advance. I normally wouldn't make guesses on posts like this ... however (and it is just a guess) ... Are you using iTunes, Mr Black? I ask because iTunes has a weird feature that helps it keep your library in sync. It makes sure folders exist where you have previously told it - probably without knowing you told it! - that they should exist. Did you ever play - not download or copy from - but play a Pink Floyd tune from your USB or external HDD? If you did, then this is (probably) why it is happening. If - instead of copying tracks to your laptop hard drive - you double-clicked to play it, there is a high chance (if you have the right iTunes settings checked) that it added the track to your library (pointing at the USB stick you had in the drive at the time). So, everytime you insert a "new" USB stick (or HDD) without the Pink Floyd folder, iTunes helpfully adds it back. To stop it (probably) you can clean and then rebuild your iTunes library. WARNING: If that goes well, then all will be well. If it goes bad then you're in for a boring time recompiling it all manually. Here is what maybe (see line above) a helpful link: support.apple.com/kb/ht1451(this might happen with other music players, besides iTunes, if you use one ... idk)

Chuck it in the canal. You'll be making a personal post-punk anti-statement that is worth its weight in gold.

Sounds like a duplicate file issue. iTunes is notorious for creating duplicates. Try this sourceforge.net/projects/yadfr/I'd ditch Vista asap as well, it's a steaming pile of crap.

See if you have the folder in your Start Menu - Programs (see the link above) and you should have an Uninstall option (that page was written by the people who wrote the application ... so it might be nonsense!) If you don't have the item in your start menu ... then try this, instead:Do you have the following folder on your C Drive? \program files\uniblue If you do have a uniblue folder, delete it and your problem should go away.
