2-0 up they screwed it up...again Plus players fighting each other, Adams looking likely to quit, money worries once more. I thought they were supposed to be 'coming for us'

Would love to see both Stoke teams do well.
Hard enough seeing the city degress over the last fifty years as it is. Nevermind wanting see our poorer brother do badly as well.
I wish them all the best.
Good luck to them. Good manager, good club.

My grandad played for the Vale. Saved the first ever peno at Vale park, in fact. My family are split down the middle. Just so happened that I watched us beat Sundeland when I was 8 or 9, and that was it. Never had any hate for the club, and always wanted both to do well. (Apart from when we played each other) Doesn't really matter what I think, If you feel that way, then say la vie.

When it comes to Vale I'm somewhat torn. Part of me would like to see the other club in the city punching above its weight and doing ok, the other part of me however remembers how bloody snide and smug they were when they were in a division above us in the early 90s. That coupled with their belief that we have big club delusions goes a long way for me wanting to see them crash and burn.

It looks like their captain is out for the season with all manner of injuries rumoured as a result of him being punched in the face.

Horrible little club, my brother in law played for them, used to be a Vale fan in the 90's, always going on about Vale and how much better they were, now he is a Stoke season ticket holder , says it all for me not needed in the great scheme of things, the council should have let them fold and saved the tax payers an awfull lot of public money in the process, never met a decent Vale fan bitter jealous scummers.

Me personally would hate it if they folded. I used to go Stoke one week and Vale the next with me dad. The reason I chose us is because coming from Cliffe-Vale we were closer and all my mates were. Stokies so when I was old enough to go without the old man I used to go with me mates. And TBH I couldn't go up the Vale now not for a gold pig but I wouldn't want them to fold either.. No anomosity against them whatsoever

Personally I don't buy into this "the city needs two clubs" malarkey, just what do Vale bring to the city or local economy? Whilst they are dipping in and out of administration they are actually having a negative impact on the city.

The scruffy soap dodging waifes are the football equivalent of a failing bank being kept buoyant by the public purse.......it cant go on, the sooner they fold the better, hopefully then the council could knock down the ground, reclaim the land as collateral of the loan and build the poor impoverished skip of a town the market that they have always longed for.
The mother town....do me a favour.

The Fail are also our 'proper' local derby. I realise it's unlikely to happen again for a while outside of a cup draw, but nonetheless, over the years we've pretended our local derby is the likes of WBA, Villa, Wolves or even Crewe! They aren't. Our local derby is Port Vale, it's just we don't get to play them too often due to them being utter shite.
Same was true of Man Utd when Man City fell through the divisions for years. Man Utd fans didn't suddenly pretend Liverpool was a local derby. Well actually some did but what do you expect?
