To be fair from what ive seen this season he`s not a bad player - no where near how he has played in the past for spurs or wigan but he`s always done a decent job for us this season and it must be very difficult being so in and out of the team in sporadic periods for a game here and there.
He was amazing against Villa be he was very poor yesterday.
Certainly not an 8million pound player BUT certainly not one for the scrap heap in my opinion.

Poor mans toure' To paraphrase an earlier poster, on a different thread: "Palacios.. he's got the feet of a rapist." On top of that, before the Liverpool match he even managed to get his bollocks twisted requiring emergency medical treatment!! The lad is a car crash!

Possibly the worst signing in the 150 years history of Stoke City.

A fair point but we are where we are and his resale value would be marginal and then the cost to replace him and then pay someone else's wages and it becomes a debatable issue. From what i see and think he will never be a first team regular as he isn`t a top ten club player - so the conundrum is keep him on his wages and low resale value as a squad player or recoup as much as we can, save his wages and spend that one someone else?

I think we're well beyond resale value now. Just need him off the wage bill. Cameron can take his place if we sign a proper right back.

Isn't his 'place' as fourth choice central midfielder after Zonz, Whelan and Adam?

He was probably the best player with Whelan in tackles and retain balls, but when u have to create the game, then he was the worst probably. That's rubbish, he spent too long on the ground and where was Whelan for the three goals, no cover at all

If Mark Hughes could get a decent 45 minutes of football out of this bloke before the end of the season you could forget all the talk of Brendon Rodgers, Tony Pulis etc he would definitely be Manager of the Year!

We commented on him spending most of the game on his ass.
He is a yard slower in every dept than most.Slower to react, slower to make the tackle, slower in his movement.
Honestly,he might have put in some improved performances this season ( that hasn't been too difficult seeing how bad he's been in the past ) but his time as a premiership footballer is up.
He has to be moved out in the summer. ( He should never have been bought. £6 million ? Ridiculous )

Possibly the worst signing in the 150 years history of Stoke City. Gordon Marshall or John Clark, either must still have that claim to fame

Possibly the worst signing in the 150 years history of Stoke City. i wouldn't go so far. There are so many worse signings that spring to mind. But he was very costly indeed

Possibly the worst signing in the 150 years history of Stoke City. I'd agree entirely with that statement. He looks so much out of his depth its untrue. He just seems to play an easy "lazy" game where he just does easy short passes all the time. Hard to believe for what little service he has given the club its cost Stoke millions which could of been spent more wisely on the building of a decent squad. He needs to go. Hopefully after Saturdays shambolic display Hughes wont be picking him again.

link"For Pulis, I played on 42 minutes last season," he added.
"He bought me for about £6.5m and I don't know why. I want to show the fans that I am not a lemon.
"I feel I haven't given anything to Stoke for what they paid."

According to Mrs Whelan, Glenn seems to be doubtful for Saturday? So, wind not withstanding, could be another start for Wilson?

Palacios's agent had got him a move in January, but for some reason we decided not to let him go. Its because when he wanders to the side of the pitch he fills the gaps in the corners.

Much as we've improved, there are still a few too many slow players in the squad.

I think his career ended when his brother died. It amazes me that nobody behind the scenes has pushed him out of the door (sympathy vote?) because all he has done is let grief destroy his career. Am I being harsh? That's all well and good but, don't fucking waste some cracking wages at our club that we could be giving to someone that will actually give us some rewards. We signed a contract. I don't think it's as easy as pushing him out the door. Even if it was he'd probably be too wide and heavy

"I feel I haven't given anything to Stoke for what they paid." If he feels guilty he should rip up his contract and leave. We definitely wouldn't stop him. Im sure he'll manage to ignore his conscience for another 12 months though

They should just pay him off and except we got robbed and cut our losses But if he wont accept a cut down deal there is no cutting losses possible. In which case we might as well keep him for emergencies. Well paid flops are practically impossible to shift. He may get a loan deal but cant see him leaving early.
