I've got to be honest that's a pretty silly reason in my opinion The good reason for not going on stadium tours is because you don't give a fuck about the stadium! I am a civil engineer. I probably would give a fuck about the stadium (as a structure). I just don't give a fuck about the teams that inhabit the stadium and refuse to contribute to their revenue stream unless I am buying a ticket to watch Stoke play there. I guess I am not a well rounded football fan? Wasn't accusing you of anything! I'm saying not being interested in a stadium is a genuine reason not to go, I just think it's only £20 and that's barely a ripple in the ocean for these clubs... If you are interested in that kind of thing and don't go because you don't want to give them £20 then that's simply retarded. Not accusing you of being a bad football fan, as long as you support your team then you're a good fan as far as I'm concerned

I am just messing about but can't be arsed to use smiley/winky things. If the girlfriend had wanted to do the tour then I would have humoured her. It's not my thing. Fortunately, she is a fantastic reader of body language and she recognised my antipathy and decided she wasn't arsed...provided I bought her a handbag and some shoes from El Cortes Ingles across the road. She is Thai and this kind of compromise is hard wired into her psyche.

I live over here, and will be working in a bar that will show the Sky Sports feed of the game with full English commentary. Not the liveliest place overall but decent beer and a decent shout for live sports as it doesn't get too overcrowded and generally you can watch the game in peace. It's called London Bridge and that's on Neuwezijds Voorburgwal, 2 mins away from centraal station if you're headed towards the Royal Palace. Normally a good mix of business-men, older tourists and locals alike watching the games.
From there, there is a pharmacy (Dam Apotheek) on a street called the Damstraat, just off of Dam Square and next to a shop with the cigarette brand Camel emblazened all over it, very easy to find and five mins away from the bar.
Enjoy Amsterdam and maybe see you Monday!

I know the street. I used to stay at The Grosvenor before they turned it into an Ibis. I stay on Damrak now so not too far, although I am still using one crutch so it may take a while. Cheers for the pharmacy location. I will check it out in the afternoon.

No football injury for me though, ruptured my ankle ligaments falling down a set of dreaded Amsterdam stairs at work about 3 months ago. Could quite possibly get back into five-a-side in the future though so we'll keep in contact! If you fancy popping along on Monday for the game though lads, feel free, the more the merrier!

Amsterdam has the worst bogs in the world.i was in a packed bar full to the brim of ajax fans and there is one bog for men and one for women.and they were both disgustingly filthy, I found this typical esp around the rld.

It's a well kept secret that many shops in Amsterdam actually sell filled oatcakes. Local regulations prevent the oatcakes being displayed in the shop window, so instead they have an alluring lady with a red light. Go in and ask for a really big juicy one covered in brown sauce.

I tend to agree. Not overly impressed with the standard of public toilet hygiene anywhere in Amsterdam (bars, restaurants, museums, even Schiphol). It seems they are either too tight to pay for people to keep them clean or they just don't make the cleaner accountable.

They play hardcore porn in the urinal. You have to aim ur piss at a sluts mouth to win a reward. One of the little perks of Amsterdam - porn everywhere

Sound likes you're all fixed up, however there are a ton of pubs showing TV sports. The Sky/Sporza package is a lot cheaper for pubs than the UK. The Tara is good for sports on Rokin: www.thetara.com/eng/
