Football in the 70s eh.

Yes, perhaps, but you'd have to have a heart of stone not to recognise the genius in the simplicity of these 2 lines which quite simply spoke to a generation "we beat em at home and we beat em away we kill any bastards that get in our way"

How are we the cock of the north if we're in the midlands?
You can't be the cock of a school you don't go to.

Every year we're going great guns and then somebody mentions us finishing as top Midlands team, causing us to go on an enormous winless run and all of our Midlands peers to go on crazy winning runs.

Sentinel report saying:- "ASMIR Begovic is urging his team-mates to help Stoke City be crowned kings of the Midlands for the first time in the club's 151-year history." We were 5th in the 73 / 74 season and got through to play in the UEFA Cup! Above us Leeds, Liverpool, Derby and Ipswich Derby counting as a Midlands club ? I suppose they are

I like the prospect of this just because of the smugness we can show next time West Brom turn up without their poxy "pride of the Midlands, we know what we are" song

Much rather be 4th/5th club in the North-West than number one in the Midlands...Sorry,I just see us being more in NW.There's been lots of debates on here about it so we don't need another one, just my opinion...Excellent this weekend,so happy at the moment its untrue!

Knowing our luck, we'll finish 10th this season, and bloody Everton or someone will suddenly start describing themselves as a Midlands club.

I won't be packing anything in.
