I'd rather get relegated soon with the club in a relatively healthy financial position than spend several more years spunking away tens of millions on average players in an attempt to finish mid table in the premier league. It may surprise the post '08 fans but our history is full of relegations and promotions, we won't be in the premier league forever.

Aaah how I yearn for those good old days being beaten by Hartlepool back in Div One. Perhaps we could achieve more than last time and go oone better than Portsmouth are doing at the moment. It just goes to show how wrong those fans were celebrating promotion to the top flight when all it could possibly bring is utter misery that could well be worse than being in a Syrian refugee camp. How did things ever get so bad?

People are entitled to their opinions but I honestly cant see how being relegated and playing in a lesser standard league is something to look forward too and wish for. Been there done that never want to see it again.

"Looking forward to the championship" It's probably for the best really, Hughes would go, the Nzonzis/Arnies etc too and we might then get a decent manager/team, (maybe) yeah i always find the best way to encourage good players and managers to come to a club is to relegated! fucking tool

People only say this when we are doing badly, trying to rationalise their feelings of doom.

this has been the same for at least the last 50 or 60 years in stoke......my dad always said that all stoke fans would never be satisfied till stoke is an island....and how true is that?
