Our cup form has been much improved the last few years. We need to field the best side we can and get through to the next round.
I thought Paul Lamberts comments were a bit unecessary and another nail in the coffin that is the FA Cup.

The people are following the lead alas of the clubs and their blasé attitude towards it, personally I think Paul Lamberts comments yesterday were a disgrace, regardless of his personal thoughts.
You see how 'unimportant' it is when folk are moaning they can't get tickets for Wembley, when they haven't been to any other games in the competition.
Even as a ST holder, the club should encourage folk to keep ticket stubs from the competition (home and away) and those guys should get the first dibs on any semi/final tickets (ie those with 3-4 first, then 2, possibly then onto Plat/Gold/Silver etc
They won't though as they will keep Plat members happy even if they can't be arsed to go to the rounds, same as ST holders!

All this speculation about players is boring crap, it's been proved time and again no-one on here knows a thing, why we waste so much time talking about it I don't know.SLP just about sums up the sadness of the situation.

You'll get 15-18 thousand in the early rounds, but if we got to a semi or a final, magically 30+ thousand will crawl out the woodwork

My attitude to the cup and many others i believe is that it gets very exciting if you are still in it in the later stages, early rounds are and have always been poorly attended. This is because it is extra expense. I also think our ticket sales will be down due to the card scheme which is an absolute nightmare for anyone wanting to go to their first game or the odd one offs. why cant someone just roll up and buy a ticket without the crap its fucking ludicrous! rant over

Better to get card now though as can you imagine the chaos if we did get to Wembers and the 'I've been going for 57 years but don't have a membership card' crewe start kicking off at the stadium?
Would take hours in the queue with folk filling forms in!
You would think there would be a simple online way of doing this, and you pick your card up the first time you collect from the ground

It was and is always a great attraction from the long set of league fixtures, we probably had a bigger home crowd against Tilbury than we will get tomorrow, the FA cup is getting ruined by the PL and it's money and newbie supporters

For what it’s worth, my view is that FA Cup 3rd day should be one of the highlights of the football calendar. However, sadly over the years the competition has been devalued.
As a Stoke fan, it is one competition that we realistically might stand a chance of winning, so I would always want to attend the Cup Games. Yes, it’s an extra expense and it appears that for the casual fan that it might be difficult to get tickets due to the system that the club have introduced, but that would not deter me from wanting to go.
I guess I'd question what do Stoke fans actually want in terms of achievement from their team, if there apears to be no interest in the F.A. Cup.
As another poster has pointed out earlier in the thread, I am sure that there would be plenty wanting tickets if we got to the Final.
It would be great to get a full house but it’s never going to happen. Ironically, though if we were not in the Premier League and we were to play against a top PL team in the 3rd round, I think we’d probably sell out.
Cheers

A very difficult game is this and will depend a hell of a lot on what team Pearson sends out as much as the one we field. Good to see Big Nigel doing well and still there.

"The next game being in the cup gives us the opportunity to change things again if we want," said Pearson.
"The important thing is the next time we take the field in the Championship, we have to be fresh and ready to go.
"I make no bones about that – the Championship has to be our priority this season, especially now with our league position.

Lawro, yer know!
Stoke City v Leicester City
Again, it is the Premier League club that is at home in this tie and that will make all the difference.
Stoke are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games at the Britannia Stadium and I do not see them being beaten by Leicester.
It seems strange to say that the Championship team are the ones with bigger fish to fry here, but they have. The Foxes are top of the table and promotion is always going to be their priority.
Lawro's prediction: 2-1

I thought Paul Lamberts comments were a bit unecessary and another nail in the coffin that is the FA Cup. Financially he maybe right, however whenever you go to Wigan in the future what will appear in their programme? The fact they survived in the Premiership in 2012 or the fact they won the FA Cup. That's right each and every year they will be able to quote that in their honours and every year the goal will be shown somewhere somehow. Not worth bothering with? Naaah I'm not buying that.
